Great list so far, several choices I've seen would be my picks as well (Inception, Expendables, Resident Evil, The Town, and Book of Eli). One I haven't seen mentioned yet is Robin Hood. There's no question the film can be accurately described as a noble misfire, but most of the action sequences find Ridley Scott is as fine a form as ever. The castle siege was outstanding but a bit too short and hampered with genre tropes and cliches
[Show spoiler](i.e. Robin's heroic rescue of the boy)
.

My favorite action sequence was the climatic battle on the beach. It was impressively staged, well choreographed, and the score swelled appropriately to highlight the action. Again, dotted throughout there were a few tiresome tropes that reared their ugly heads, but on the whole I count it among the best action sequences I saw last year.

Darn I thought this was a best action scenes of all time thread...

I didn't think 2010 had that good action...

That being said here is my list:

5. The Town - Baseball diamond robbery

4. Inception - Final 'Kick'

3. The Losers - Final action scene(nod to start of movie too)

2. Harry Potter 7 Part 1 - London fight scene

1. Tron Legacy - The Game has Changed

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSx_N...eature=related - The music alone is enough to win best action scene of 2010.

Trust me, it would have been on my top 5 too... it's just that I didnt want more than one scene from the same movie to be more "fair" lol... the hit girl scene rescue is more of an emotional pick for me but the warehouse scene is amazing too.

Yeha, my thoughts also. Comparing those to the ones that started this thread is laughable. Especially since aside from Expendables, the other 4 films were received positively while most on this were dogs of the year.

There is something snobby in this post. It is not a popularity contest, The original poster was being honest, those scenes resonated with him.

How was I able to gauge this?

Yea man I usually ignore immaturity in certain post. Also how can u take someone serious when they backup their opinion with how the films are regarded in general and not their own opinion haha. I watch for me not for Ebert lol. Got Em!!

1. Inception - Van chase where the van flips and causes the next layer of dream to rotate where Arthur is fighting Fischer's men.
2. Inception #2 - Sequence of invading the hospital and the army heading for 'em and Eames fighting 'em.
3. Toy Story 3 - Near the end
[Show spoiler]where the toys first go into the garbage truck till the point where the alien toys save the day.

4. Toy Story 3 #2 - Opening sequence.
5. Resident Evil: Afterlife - The whole sequence where the axeman first
shows up to the point where Alice and Claire fight it.

And in that order. I haven't seen much in 2010, but that's what I got. If it were for all ten years of 2000, it would've been a more diverse list. I'm sure once I see The Town I'll add something more in there. I also need to see Red, and see The Expendables again, but I doubt they'll make the top 5.

i'll cop out here and just list my favorite action movies of 2010.
1) Scott Pilgrim - wow what a great flick
2) Rez evil 4 - first 20 minutes are unbeatable
3) Kick Ass - heck yeah
4) Tron Legacy - super slick throughout - tied with Iron man 2 here
5) Expendables - the a10 rocks - another tie here with Knight and day (fun action)

Ali Larder and Milla Jorovich in the showers could be the subject of an entire movie with or without the Axeman
