Well, I subscribed to PSN+ to get this.

Depending on the price on PSN, it is probably a better deal just to buy the whole Genesis Collection on disc than buy it individually online. I was hoping Sega release more arcades games on PSN. That is a buy for me.

I'm confused about why they say this is "early and exclusive" to PSPlus when the Blu Ray of the Genesis collection has been out for years.(?)

I guess it's early and exclusive for people who don't like discs? ??

Anyways... I got the collection for my PSPGo a while back and on that size screen the graphics are "ok". I can hardly imagine viewing it on the displays I use for my PS3 though. Games of that era and just too blocky on larger displays for me now.

The emulated Sonic is horrible. I got it free from Plus but it is slow, has a slight input lag thats noticeable and controls clunky. How could they mess this up?

yeah I noticed. These werent this bad when they were released on the BR collection a few years back. They need to patch this up already. I loved these games back in the day but they are unplayable in their current form

What makes less sense is that this Vintage collection has been out even longer than the Genesis collection for XBLA but PSN never got them back then only to randomly pop-up years later

Have the same trophies as they had achievements on XBLA so all one has to do is look at the Xbox 360 achievements to know what to expect minus what will be bronze, silver and gold. Although even then you can figure most of that out by how many points they were worth.

So far the early and exclusive downloads of these games for PS+ users have been free. So, if you already have other reasons for wanting PS+ anyway, it is a good way to get the games for no additional cost.

But I have no interest in PS+ and I already have the collection disc anyway. I don't really need any of the online features with the download versions.

About the only thing I would consider downloading would be Sonic 3&Knuckles if they were to release it, since for some incredibly stupid reason they didn't offer the 'lock-on' combo games between Sonic & Knuckles and the other Sonic games on the collection disc (they had some stupid excuse about how it would be too hard to emulate the games 'locking' together... which is a bunch of bull because there are "unofficial" emulations of these games out there and the combined games are available as their own separate roms... I don't see why this wouldn't have been possible on an official release that people are actually paying for).

Granted, it's not like I don't have these games for other systems. And I am able to use the PS2 Sonic Mega Collection disc on one of my PS3s (that being an 80GB unit with backwards compatibility), but it still sucks that it wasn't included on the PS3 collection disc.
