I'm looking for a big year from Alexander Ovetchkin and the Washington Capitals.

Hockey live and in person is far and away my favorite sport to attend. Especially if you can get seats at the glass.

It definately is the best sport to watch in person, without a doubt. It's even fun to watch on TV as well, which is why it makes no sense that ratings are so low for the NHL now.

Everyone got offended during the strike a few years back. It has been very slow to recover. Baseball does it and no big deal, hockey does it and half the people claim its not the same
I think its better now, IMO.

Plus, we beat Detroit two nights later...and it's only pre-season. Thanks though for the respect. I feel good things are coming this year.

Nothing beat hockey in So Cal. Even if the Kings have not played well the last few years. Go Kings Go!

I would take the NHL of the 80's and 90's any day of the week over what ever the hell this sport is now but it is not the NHL i grew up loving! It is not better today then before and the ratings and networks unwillingness to show the sport prove so! Hell ESPN rather show Texas hold em reruns then a NHL game, i think that speaks volumes!

This sport was bigger then the NFL and MLB in the early 90's and all of these changes are directly responsible for the continued downward spiral! Way to much expansion, taking teams out of cold weather climates and moving them to areas who could careless less about the sport, to many whistles stopping play and interrupting the flow of the game and basically most of the toughness is gone! Bettman is the man responsible IMO and needs to be replaced, hopefully it happens before he completely runs the game and league into the ground!

Hopefully LA doesn't try to hijack them like they did the Angels huh!?

The whistle blowing comment I can't deny. Those GD refs calling every little thing for hooking is getting annoying. I would also take the late 80's and 90's over today's hockey. No doubt, no fan will deny that. Ratings do suck! But other things like eliminating the two line pass and the goalie trapeziod are decent. I love the OT shootouts. It has gotten a little softer, but nonetheless, I still enjoy it more than any other sport, live or watching on TV! I have to admit though, that it takes a unique fan to enjoy this sport, not everyone gets it. Two years ago my wife had no knowledge of hockey, now she loves it!

I think you need to get the story straight. The city of LA is helping Anaheim for them to change there name back. The city of LA does not want the Angels using the name LA. The was done by the Angels w/o any knowledge of either city.

I have comcast center ice. But the only team I care about is Philly. Flyers fans are some of the strongest left in the NHL. Philly bleeds orange and black.
