Great film and an immediate purchase. Ballard's book is excellent, though the limited edition is very pricey these days. His follow on book The Kindness Of Women and his autobiography Miracles Of Life are well worth reading

The P51 is an awesome plane and if not for it long range capabillities things would have been very different in WWII. I have my own sound recording of 6 in the sky at once from an air show I went to here in the UK and managed to hear one of them make the whistle sound they are famouse for. I guess I'm going to still prefer the Spitfire where at the same show a year later we got to see 16 spitfires in the sky at once. Now that was an awesome spectical.

Still can't wait for Empire of the Sun though.
