Let's hope that "newly restored" doesn't mean "Old HD transfer with DNR and EE added" ala Spartacus. As much as I love this movie, I have no faith with Universal's catalog releases. That's a shame because when they want to they can crank out some good ones like many of the old HD DVDs like The Sting, 12 Monkeys, Dante's Peak, etc.

I was completely surprised when I saw the official announcement for Scarface in the main page. I know Universal had mentioned they were going to release it this year but I wasn't sure. I guess Universal always tells the truth, even when they lie.

I'm really hyped about this release.

Very unusual that a US release is getting a steelbook for the first run. Not that I'm complaining, of course.

I want to know how much that humidor edition is. It won't be cheap.

I really hope Universal gives this the release it deserves.

Hope this is a good remaster as this great film really needs it. Cannot wait till it is up for pre order on Amazon. Just got me a better job so I will have no problem purchasing it.

I hope this also helps push the release of the Paul Muni classic.... They do that a lot to piggy-back the marketing efforts etc....

I'll buy this when it's $15 or so.

It's a good movie, overhyped i believe but still good. I'll likely pick it up when the price is right.
