I don't care about delays for instant. I don't watch anything new on instant. I wait for the BD release or watch it on TV when it originally aires. The picture and sound quality of streaming is not quite as good as when I take a widescreen (16:9) program from a 4:3 480p channel and zoom or expand (depending what your TV calls it) to fit to the 16:9 TV's screen without distorting the picture. Streaming quality is just not good enough.

I really only use streaming for older stuff not on BD or DVD, or things I have seen many times and I'm bored or stuff I kinda want to see but don't care that much about them.

That's why they're starting to get into producing original content with "House of Cards"....

With the names involved, it sounds like it could be very good. But how many $100M (26 episodes) series can they afford to produce while keeping their price low? My guess is hikes are already in the works with this and the re-negotiations coming up in the near future. It's looking like Netflix will soon be nothing more than a Pay TV channel except you receive it over the net. Not necessarilly a bad thing, but that's not what a lot of their customers signed up for.

I was kind of surprised they went after original content as opposed to just playing themselves as a content provider. Competing against the same companies whose product you wish to stream doesn't make them want to come and give you more stuff to stream. Those companies will eventually realize they won't make much by having each and everyone offer their own streaming solution but by running through one provider who does that only. Time will tell.
