They are all important though. If a studio/company gets it all right you have a fabulous film on your hands (like the recent Taxi Driver by Sony, for example).

1. The film - It has to be a film I know I'll watch a good few times. I don't class my self as a blind buyer - i know what type of film i like and with a little research on here and other sites i'll know if i like a film even if i haven't seen it.

2. PQ - one of the essentials in a Blu-ray.
3. AQ & Price - I have a half decent surround sound system and hugely appreciate the difference it can make, but I've yet to decide against a purchase solely due to a poor audio transfer (not counting the saving private ryan transfer problem). Price becomes a factor when buy titles i dont class as 'must see'. I'm happy to wait for the right price on some titles.
4. Special features - only a factor on my 'must see' films, only in that i'd buy a set with features than without if that was an option. If the only option was without features and i wanted the film it wouldnt be a deal breaker.
5. Packaging - very limited interest but i will pick up digi books or steel books if the the price is right and if there is a choice between slip or non slip I prefer the slip option.

1. The film - I'll only buy it if I've seen it and liked it, or maybe blind buy if I can't rent it first. However...

2. PQ - ...I don't blind buy unless reviews / screenshots suggest the PQ is at least servicable.

3. AQ - The high storage capacity of BD means there's no excuse for lossy audio.

4. Price - If the price is high, I don't mind waiting for it to drop unless I have an urgent desire to see the film.

5. Special features - This depends on what the special features are. Some are interesting, others... not so much.

6. Packaging - Nice packaging can be a bonus, but it doesn't really sway me either way.

The Film Itself - I need to have enjoyed the film before I buy it (my blind-buying days are over)

PQ - if it's a new release then usually PQ isn't an issue. If it's a catalogue release, then the upgrade in quality from dvd to bd has to be good enough to make me warrant buying it again

SQ - echoing the poster above myself, due to the fact that BD has a high storage capacity means there's no excuse for lossy audio.

Price - some films I'll buy day one. However, some (eg Piranha) I'd rather wait til they come down to a more reasonable price

Special Features - half the time I don't watch them

Packaging - not fussed. If it comes in a steel then that's a bonus.

The Film itself has to be top.

Re-watchability, if it has none then it goes.

AQ - No lossless audio then no sale.

PQ - Like Hobgoblin said, it needs to be worth the upgrade, not like DOG SOLDIERS, etc.

1. The Film - I've only ever bought movies I've watched and enjoyed, but I do blind-buy quite a bit based on positive reviews of the film.
2. The PQ
3. Packaging - if you have a slipcover, I'll find ya!
4. Price
5. Special Features - as long as the film is on it in HD, then that's all I really need. Special Features are bonuses.
6. The AQ - to be honest, I can never tell the difference, but I'm sure if I got fancy high-tech speakers then it would be a different story.

Myself im into blind buying at the moment, the problem ive faced with collecting is i end up with loads of stuff ive already seen, in some cases multiple times...im always happy to revisit the classics but it doesnt always fill the gap i think, good to create new experiences.

There is the risk you will end up with junk but its part of the fun and if you do research you minimze the risk, of my blind buys so far its only really unthinkable thats been garbage so far, the best part is i still have a load of stuff i havent seen yet, cool.

Basically no ones going to buy the films i want to see and loan them to me are they, nd renting just means ill have to give them back and i dont like that much.

The Film.
The PQ and AQ help to enhance this, I want the best possible (isn't that why we all have blu-ray players?)
I don't usually watch special features (they often ruin the film) and I don't care about the packaging, I throw away those annoying slip cases. I do like those metal cases tho.

As a whole, I would say that an HD edition has simply to be definitive.
It's not a point of having this or that, PQ and SQ but no extras.
It has simply to be definitive.
Point.

The Film - I will buy any film regardless but I will check the reviews, if it's atrocious don't expect me to go anywhere near it except a DVD sale. If I don't steel that I will watch the film again I'll probably dump the film.

Picture Quality - WHY ELSE WOULD I BUY BLU RAY?

The Price - I'm always on the lookout for bargains, I will rarely buy new releases for top buck unless worth it.

Special Features - Justify the price point and it can be really cool as I'm very interested in the making of films and some of the shorts and alternate scenes are awesome as well.

Packaging - I won't buy junk films just because they are in fancy packaging. If a good film has a slip I'll try and get it but won't get to serious. Steelbooks I'll only purchase if the cover art is nice and Collectors/Special/Limited editions are purchased if I think the content, price and quality of the items is sufficent.

Audio Quality - I don't notice the difference between DVD and Blu ray, no fancy speaker equipment thus far.

I'm shocked to see so many putting the audio so far down the list. Just because you don't have a decent system in place shouldn't mean you don't care about it. What happens if/when you get a 5.1 system/upgrade?

I don't have a 100inch screen but that doesn't mean I don't care about the video quality. When I upgrade to a bigger screen I certainly want the film to still look as best it possibly can.

Just curious really. Personally I believe every single release should feature lossless audio. It's a no-brainer since it takes up only a small amount of space on a 50gb disc. Also Blu-ray is meant to be high definition picture and sound.

Just curious really.

To be fair, it's only reasonable that the majority who don't own a good sound system will put audio further down. It's obvious that picture quality is the priority as we all own HD TVs. As long as the voices are clear and the audio is not out of sync, I'm content. I don't have a sound system, nor can I really afford a good one right now, so I'm not too fussed by the audio quality right now.

You can't expect everyone to put audio quality towards the top of their lists when a lot don't even own good sound systems, which ultimately shows their priorities when it comes to watching Blu-rays (picture > audio). I'm in the same boat too.
