i have seen plenty of trailers that looked awesome and the actual movie was boring crap. in this case i watched the trailer and thought to myself wow,
if the trailer is already that lame, should i really blind buy this??
well i still did and was actually positively surprised. of course it will never be
gladiator, but it was better than i would have expected with that unspectacular trailer.
as for the sleeve (which if course influenced the purchase decision) i have to say it is really one of the nicest looking in a long time.

FYI, if you buy this and Adjustment Bureau at Best Buy, you save $10. Not a bad deal. I opted for the regular digital copy version vs the combo disc.

2 other things I like about this release. The digital copy is just a code to use on their website, so there's no useless disc once it's redeemed. And they used a non-eco Elite case.

Universal always use the regular Viva cases. I think they are the only movie studio that doesn't use eco cases.

One good thing about this film, is seeing Channing Tatum half-naked. Plot was okay although a little predictable, imo. I did shed a couple tears but that's sentimental me. Would give it a 6/10.

In other thread conversation before, I recall that we shared similar thoughts on some movies. I am tempted to buy this, and I may no do so.

Also: Here is a link for everyone who is wondering what the differences between the theatrical and unrated cuts.

I have found this website pretty helpful in the past.

I actually blind bought this, and I'm pretty glad to have it in my collection. I actually enjoyed the movie a lot. Channing Tatum is starting to improve into a more serious actor, too.

BB has this on for $25, so I decided to get it. Big fan of Centurion, so this is a nice addition to my collection in that genre. Sleeve looks great too!

I liked it - then again I like just about anything portaying this or other historical / fantasy type time periods.

In my opinion this movie started strong then sucked. Those sea people look like more of a medieval style of warriors which is past roman times. It could have been so much better with a stronger plot or maybe in the way the story was told. I would buy this if it were like 6.99 on blu-ray.

Now's your chance since it's only $5 at Big Lots.

I borrowed this from my local library and am watching it right now. About an hour in, and it's a really absorbing drama (don't think of it as an action movie). I think Ken Brown's review, emphasizing the minimalism, is spot-on.

Yikes, there's not much love for this film, but this one is another on my 4K wishlist.
