Actually, just about every city has these smaller 'used' media retailers who buy, sell and trade used DVD's, Blu-rays, and console games. I know we have a few here where I live and every community has their own.
Just look through your phone directory or do an online search for them. We have two called "Media Replay" and another called "Disc Replay". You should really do your research. With eBay, you're taking a huge risk that a seller won't rip you off. eBay has a big problem with this and Paypal will only protect your purchase if that seller still has money in their account. If the seller doesn't ship you the item and their Paypal account has no money in it, then you're out of luck. SecondSpin.com: I don't trust this retailer. Their used prices are premium prices and they offer very little to buy your used stuff. |

Second hes looking for retail stores in the US. Finally I'd hate to tell you that Gamestop and or EB Games doesn't sell used movies anymore and haven't for almost 3 years now. Now that that's done with OP your best bet would be an FYE if you can find one that's still open. Other than that there aren't that many options other than moviestop, some mom and pop shops, and pawn shops that you may find around. Good luck and happy hunting. |

![]() And if you have the time, you can go to the nicest town in New Jersey called Princeton (where the university is) and go to the Princeton Record Exchange. This is the greatest used DVD/blu-ray/CD store in the world. They sell tons of dvds ranging from $1 to $10, and good obscure ones too. What I usually do is buy TV DVD boxsets for about 5 bucks and then I sell them for mad profit at the CeX stores. For example, I would buy a Dragonball Z Season 2 for 4 dollars for the PRX and then sell it to CeX for 12 bucks. It's worth the 45-minute train ride from NYC: http://www.princetonrecordexchange.com/ BEST STORES FOR USED BLU-RAYS/DVDS: CeX (5 stores in NYC): http://us.webuy.com/stores/ (These stores are in London too) Entertainment Outlet 14th Street Store: 110 W 14th St 40th Street Store: 8 W 40th (next to Bryant Park) Kim's Video (see below) ALL FOREIGN BLU-RAYS/DVDS: Kim's Video (it’s the best international video store in NYC...or even the world!) 124 1st Avenue, New York, NY - (212) 533-7390 JAPANESE DVDs: Book Off 49 West 45th Street HQ Video (it’s the best Japanese DVD store in NYC) 21 West 45th Street, 2nd Floor, NYC (Between 5th & 6th Ave) Phone: 212-221-0027 HONG KONG/CHINESE BLU-RAYS/DVDs: P-TUNE VIDEO CORP. 75 Chrystie Street (near Bowery and Canal sts) KOREAN DVDs Korya Bookstore (which has very big selection of Korean DVD) and two other Korean DVD stores Somewhere on 32nd Street, NYC (Between 6th and 5th Ave) RUSSIAN DVDs There are about 4 Russian DVD stores in a radius of about 6 blocks on Brighton Beach Ave. Brighton Beach, Brooklyn (40 minutes from center of Manhattan by subway) POLISH DVDs/BLU-RAYS Music Planet Go to Greenpoint, Brooklyn (649 manhattan avenue, Brooklyn) http://www.musicplanet.cc/catalog/index.php?language=en INDIAN BLU-RAYS/DVDs Bollywood Music 37-11 74th Street, Jackson Heights, Queens (between 37th Ave and Roosevelt Ave) Take the F, 7, or R subway to the 74th Broadway Jackson Heights - Roosevelt Ave stop Sangeet House 124 Lexington Avenue, Manhattan 2nd Floor (between 29th Street and 28th Street) Take the 4 or 6 subway to the 28th Street stop GREEK DVDs Go to Long Island City, Queens (20 minutes from center of Manhattan by subway) Last edited by toddly6666; 05-18-2011 at 02:26 PM. |

I have to tell you that I would try Pawn Shops as a last resort for selling used DVD's or Blu-rays. They give youo next to nothing for them. Oh, and I already knew about Gamestop and EB Games. BY the way, they are all under the same umbrella company.
One retailer I would recommend is Disk Replay: http://www.discreplay.com/. There's probably one in your area as they operate in multiple states and cities. They are your best chance to selling off your used media and they give a better and fair value for your used media. Also, they sell most used Blu-ray movies for around $12, a real good bargain and they even clean the Blu-rays and remove scratch marks before they sell them. |

toddly6666 - I don't want to quote your whole post because it's huge but thank you so, so much. I actually didn't know CeX had moved over to the USA already, but yeah, it's pretty big in the UK right now. They give very competitive rates for buying preowned games/movies.
madlost1 - thanks for your support. I'll be sure to pay more attention when looking at where to post a thread but it looks like I've managed to get the help I needed in this forum anyway so again, thanks to everyone who has contributed. I noticed people keep mentioning ebay quite a lot, and even Amazon has come up a fair few times, I'm actually after the Watchmen Ultimate Cut (amongst other oop titles) and as I'm sure most of you are aware, the going rate is extremely high since most people know their rarity. Think I've got myself busy in NYC now, maybe some stores in Chicago would be great since I've got some time to kill there. =p Last edited by MokaBear; 05-18-2011 at 02:28 AM. |

You have a better chance dealing with Amazon Marketplace than with eBay. With Amazon, you're guaranteed to get your money back if you don't receive the item, someone doesn't ship to you, or it's in worse shape than you thought.
I would not trust eBay. I've been ripped off from sellers there on a few occassions. |

For the most part, there and everywhere else I have seen, buying used at retail costs almost as much as just buying it new (especially if you buy it on Amazon instead). I go to Newbury when they have those 2for1 used sales, and that's a good deal (especially since they let you pair up titles instead of just giving you the cheapest you buy free - so if I buy six movies, say 2 for 7.99, 2 for 9.99, 2 for 12.99, I get one each from each price free instead of the 2 7.99 ones and 1 9.99 one, as most places would do). But other than that, I'd just rather buy from Amazon new most of the time. |

If you're in Chicago, check out Reckless on Broadway or Milwaukee (or both, preferably). There's lots of used CDs there as well, enough to keep one busy for quite a while...they're awesome places to browse.
