There is no difference in A/V quality. The Superbit repackaging is a 3 disc set, with more special features, than the first Superbit release.

From everything I read, the Superbit one DID have a higher bitrate (considering it didn't have the commentaries to contend with) so that may not entirely be true.

I hope Panic Room is released on Blu-ray one day. the movie deserves a full HD release. I kinda hope shout factory releases it. would love for them to do a release with all the bonus features. I would love to see the scenes shot with Nicole Kidman before she left the movie. I heard she shot for 3 weeks so there has to be some footage?.

She filmed a good chunk of the opening portion of the film, from what I've read. There's a single shot from Kidman's footage on the making-of doc on the 3-disc set. It's the shot where the camera turns 90 degrees looking at Meg's face as her head is on the pillow, and the silhouette appears in the door, which was the eventual poster, only with Jodie Foster.

I doubt Kidman's footage was ever cut together into anything watchable, and it probably took a miracle to get that one shot cleared for the documentary back in the heyday of home video, so unfortunately I doubt we'll ever see any more of her footage.

god i hate fight club so much - it has to be one of the most overrated movies - of course that will come next and panic room will be ignored ...

As well as the extras being on DVD I believe they have hard coded / locked Spanish subtitles, although given it is the same disc as the DVD SE, most can just stick with that. The subtitles for the film are removable on the BD but as said it is a bootleg.

One of the interviews to promote the IMAX 8K restoration of Se7en said they're currently working on Panic Room.
