thinking about it more, I don't get it why director's aren't more involved with how their films ultimately look and sound on bluray (Michael Apted excepted for his approved aspect ratio change of 'Voyage of the Dawn Treader) - Fox maybe playing hardball in not releasing this in 3D, but this is the third time that a film that should have had a 7.1 soundmix on it's bluray edition is not released as such ('Ice Age 3' had 7.1 - go figure). If I were the director I'd be a bit peeved. Disney has shown it's support for 3D and 7.1 - yet Fox Home Video has proven to be the worst in not representing movies as they were experienced in the theater - TOTAL EPIC FAIL - no sale.

Applebee's has a $3 coupon on the back of their children's menu for the Rio movie. I am uncertain if all locations are running this promotion.

It has been Confirmed that this is being released in 3D and is not an exclusive to any manufacturer

I can't wait to get this I did not see it in theaters but have been looking forward to it. I am sure the PQ will be amazing. Day 1 purchase for me

I missed this one in theaters, but I'll definitely be picking it up since my wife's side of the family is from Brazil. I'm really hoping that either the US or UK release has a Portuguese soundtrack option. More and more blu-rays are getting Portuguese (heck, even the new LOTR extended set has it), it would be ironic if "Rio" did not. Has anybody heard anything about language options?

I just got it, and yes, it does have a Portuguese track.

Nope, it's the Mexican edition, but the contents should be the same.

I'm still waiting to see if Rio will have a decent spanish soundtrack. One week to go and no audio specs yet? Plus, the price will have to come down*just*a*tad.

It was a very hollow movie for me. Plenty of color, movement, and quick songs along the way, but the characters and plot were very one-sided and predictable.

I just put this in my PS3 and i got a message that it cant play the disc unless its updated and that i need to go to the maunfactuerer's website. this is what i hate about blu-ray. freaking updates.

Surprisingly, i just put it in my Sony player and its playing. its always been the other way around.
