I went with the UK one too.

The edit.. well 1. Deodato approved it.. and 2. i never liked that scene anyway as it served no purpose to me

Hmmm, thanks for the feedback guys. Guess I'll have to add it to my shopping basket at amazon.uk

I've already read a couple reviews, but am curious about your opinions regarding the transfer and the new documentaries. Are they as good as I hope they are? This will also be my first Shamless blu ray purchase. I love the Arrow films I own and hope this will be just as good.

The Shameless release is great as is Shameless. I actually prefer them over Arrow. If you are an Argento fan you gotta pick up their BD release of Four Flies on Grey Velvet.

I did have my eye on Shameless' DVD of House at the Edge of the Park and New York Ripper: Fan Edition blu ray, until I found out they were both still censored.
Editing out real animal cruelty is one thing, but in completely fictional films like these, I find it really irritating and unnecessary especially after all these years.

Oh well, I'm still interested in Cannibal Holocaust. I still have the ltd ed Grindhouse 2 disc edition dvd which has the full uncut version.

What's the difference? You contradicted yourself in the same sentence. Real animal cruelty is still real animal cruelty whether it's for a fictional movie or a real-life documentary.

He's making the point that he understands why actual animal cruelty would be censored in a film like Cannibal Holocaust, where several animals are actually killed in graphic fashion, whereas he's annoyed that films such as House at the Edge of the Park or New York Ripper are censored, though there is no actual violence displayed.

Thanks you for understanding my point.

Grindhouse's new bluray of American Hippie in Israel includes a bunch of "coming soon" trailers. Cannibal Holocaust is the first trailer I think. Does this mean there is light at the end of the tunnel for an actual release??? Some of the other trailers are mouth wateringly good, hope they will be bluray releases as they give no indication wherer any given title will simply be a DVD. Some other trailers are for Cannibal Ferox(!) and Gone With The Pope, which looks pretty amazing.
Oh, anyone check out that French bluray of Cannibal Holocaust, forced subs or censored?

IIRC Grindhouse has stated that they plan to release all their titles on Blu.

The primary hold-up has probably been the untimely dead of Sage Stallone, but it looks like they are back on track now. There is a rumor going around that Cannibal Holocaust is in the works and will be released in 2014.

Seems like the planets are aligning since we're getting so much stuff from many different labels. I figured Grindhouse Releasing would remain defunct but thankfully they're back in the game. Can't wait to see PIECES in high-def.

I emailed Grindhouse asking if there will ever be a blu ray of Cannibal Holocaust and they emailed back confirming it's release will be next year!

Why wouldn't it be true? They did say all of the films in their catalog would be upgraded in the coming months. They've got a great track record so far with only 2 releases and I plan on buying most of them.

Just watched the #'ed/limited edition Uncut release last night for the first time since it was released... Really enjoyed it, kinda forgot about this one over the last couple years. Would gladly upgrade to blu-ray when they get it out!

I don't know how you ppl can see this film more than once. One time in a 75% window was good enough for me.

The Big Gundown seems to be Grindhouse's "grand finale" for the year (which I'm REALLY looking forward to), so my guess is that Cannibal Holocaust may be within the first half of 2014.

Hopefully the cheese-tastic Cannibal Ferox will soon follow, as well as The Beyond. I've enjoyed the Arrow blu, especially for its extras, but I know Grindhouse can blow them out of the water in the video department.
