PlayStation VITA -- Are you getting it?

IF it doubles as a ps3/ps4 controller i would......but it cant as it only has one set of shoulder buttons

you don't think they'll use the huge touchscreen on the back as another set of buttons? lol

Err, it's kind of impractical in a lot of ways.

They are new for $179 currently at by BJ's.

I wonder what Gamestop offers but I likely don't even really want to know as I bet it's somewhere around $40.

I've never played Uncharted but I've done my time with Tomb Raider over the years . I think if I had played through the Uncharted games I would likely want the Vita more.

I'm waiting to see what other sort of features it has. My PSP Go is honestly fine for portable gaming, but the VITA has so much potential to do what a PSP can't. Some thing's I'd like to see:
- A fully functional browser with Flash support
- Non-gaming apps (Gmail, Facebook, etc)
- Remote play for all PS3 games
- Use as a PS3 controller with additional on-screen info (maps, etc) similar to the Wii U tablet

If it can do some of these things, I will definitely consider it. If they can just get the browser part right I would buy it day one and forget about ever getting an iPad.

Maybe not at launch but @ 249 this is a great deal. It seems Sony is hitting all the right marks with this compared to the PSPs. I will be hinting to the wife that i will like this for my birthday.

A lot of the demos look great, but I don't consider it another set of buttons. But as a set of shoulder buttons as a PS3/4 controller would be tiring in a bit. If I can convince the wife and we have the extra cash to spend, it'll be around day 1 or sometime after for me. But more probable within 1st year.

True, true. But it may be better (depending on ur credit) to get a Best Buy card and make payments as it'll probaly be interest free for a while.

Nope. I don't have time to play it when I'm not at home and if I'm at home then I'm not playing a handheld over my console.

That may be the only reason I would get one...all depends on how it interacts with the PS3. If I see some groundbreaking functionality...that may change my mind.

I will most likely wait. The only reason is the size. I love my PSPGo because of how compact it is. I travel a lot and a large hand held is not always practical. Once I can actually see it in person and hold it I may change my mind

Will do. But now that you think about it, it may be a bad idea. I think I'll try my best to sell it to a friend. Although I still love the thing, I just don't think many of my pals do and would shell out what I think is fair value. I did pay $250 after all and have another couple hundred worth of games on there.

As of now i'll probably get it within a few weeks of release... ... BUT I'm still trying to figure out how to get this past my wife, as i posted in the other thread, i already get the stink eye when im playing ps3 too much, any ideas...
