I watched Awakenings a couple weeks ago and Robin Williams is fantastic in this film. I had not seen it in 15 years before watching the BD.

Rounders on the other hand... I couldn't wait on. Great blu!

Now all I need is a better version of 'The Fugitive' and my top 5 movies of all time will be on Blu.

Great movie with a great price in Amazon. The cast is excellent all around, specially Robin Williams who definetly earned his Oscar. His best performance alongside the Genie in Aladdin

It does have some depressing elements, and the aesthetic/artistic direction tends to be drab or drained and rarely if ever showing warm comforting environments, but overall it's intended to be an inspirational film.
The realism of the film resonates so strong because of how all of those emotional components of love, loss, failure and success etc. are masterfully played out by what I believe was a perfectly cast film.
Nobody is overpowering or out of place, they all fit so naturally.
Ultimately, IMO it's the exchanges between Damon and Williams that drives the story into the heart - they are afterall on the damn cover! haha. I know some people feel it's the friendship with Affleck or the love interest with Driver, but it's the exchanges between Damon and Williams that feel so genuine.
Hopefully, you'll give it another look. It's a film that will age well and I personally don't think it's ever too late to see it.
