I'm happy to keep mine at the moment and I'm still happy to pick up DVD's when I see them for under a fiver or the TV boxsets that haven't come to Blu. I've got a pile of VHS tapes to get rid of and it makes me kind of sad to think no-one will watch them and they'll gather dust in a charity shop. There used to be a shop in Swansea which gave you three quid a pop for DVD's but that was years ago it's probably a pound or less now....

Red Planet is from Warner so it will most definitely be region free.

It depends on what you're selling and whether or not they're special editions, limited editions etc. My brother sold all of his DVDs recently to Film Vault and they offered £210 for about 180 discs, most of which were special editions and boxed sets of top titles. He could probably have got quite a fair bit more selling individually on eBay but it's just too much hassle. So yeah, they do seem to under value items a bit.
I just wanted shut of mine, so the Film Vault were ideal at the time. Most of my discs were just basic 1-disc versions anyway so £1 each was good enough for me. I'd say stick the better titles on eBay and sell the crap ones to Film Vault. Quote:

I have a few I want to sell to make money to buy blu ray replacements. I've been on Amazon. Do people really buy dvds for £47 when the same dvd can be bought from another seller for 99p??

Nah, keeping it all, besides I buy DVD releases of anime so it wouldn't make any sense to get rid of my whole DVD collection.
One Piece: Collection One is coming out on DVD with 26 episodes, last time it was only 13 which wasn't much (could've been 40 eps per release, but I'm happy with these new Collections of One Piece). Been looking at the complete series of Willy Fog but will wait till it drops to £7.50 or less. |

I cannot sell my whole collection as like many folks already stated many many movies will never be realeased on blu. I don't keep discs I have on blu and dvd though... don't see the point. By starting to collect movies on blu I also started to get rid of many many dvds I don't need anymore, for some you still get some money back... if a disc only gets me 1 or 2 bucks I'll just keep it or give it away to friends of mine.

List the rarer ones on eBay. They go quite well. You'd probably make £100 by selling a fraction of them. I'd never sell 100 DVDS for £100!

I'm putting mine up on eBay in batches.
If they don't sell after two listings I take them down to Cex. Something's better than nothing. I always exchange rather than sell for cash so I get more and can get a 2nd hand Blu-Ray from them. |

Wow - you are extremely lucky if you can get £100 for 100 discs - most places are 20-50p if you are lucky! Depends on what you have got - but most popular ones are worth nothing - only the ltd or rare ones are worth more.

I've probably got about 200-250DVDs (not inc tv shows) and I've stopped buying them now (sorta - I think I'll get tv shows on DVD 95% of the time as I like watching them on my laptop etc plus most of them probably won't make it to blu-ray!)
I did recently sell quite a few Disney DVDs that I now have on blu-ray. Got £17 for Toy Story 1 and 2 double pack (on play.com)!! ![]() As for the rest I think I'll either give away or sell dirt cheap to friends the one's I now have on blu-ray (maybe 10-15 of them) and the rest I'll just keep. No point in selling them I think. Heck I still sometimes buy films on DVD. Especially since a lot of films (romcom/cheesy comedy etc etc) drop down to £3 sometimes as soon as a few months after they release! |

I'd like an answer to this too. I have about £45 worth of Cex store credit but my local Ipswich store is often quite limited on Blu-ray stock. It would be great to get titles through their online catalogue.

Try going to their site and see if you can use a voucher code instead of a credit/debit card.
