Agreed. Those overseas orders from the US and UK arrive in less than a week according to other peoples posts.

My copies of Dawn of the Dead and Lock, Stock from the 2 for $20 just arrived.

Ordered on the 4th, dispatched on the 7th (slight delay as when I ordered Lock, Stock wasn't in... stock ) and arrived today on the 11th. So, four day delivery and that's including over the weekend. That's pretty consistent with my previous experiences as per my earlier posts.

Pink Bits & TheDevilsGuard: I noticed both of you listed ordered and received dates but you didn't note dispatch dates. How long did it actually take to get to you after dispatch? I only ask because in my post on the 24th I said the following:

Quote:
In stock means it's in stock with JB and would ship usually within 48 business hours. "Order Now" means it's not in stock at JB but in stock with their supplier so it will ship once they get it from them. From my experience that's anywhere from about 3 days to 2 weeks. Not a huge wait but you'll find that in a big sale period like now a lot will say "Order Now".
If both of you waited a little bit before dispatch then I'm thinking it said "Order Now" as the status for at least one of the titles in your order. Just a heads up, but if that's the case then you'll have that 3 day to 2 week wait I mentioned. Lock, Stock said "Order Now" for me so that's why my order took 3 days to process to dispatch as they had to get stock from the supplier.

Just FYI.

Funnily enough, one of the movies I bought was "Lock, Stock...".

I know this is an old thread, but I too have recently placed a JB order on August 10 and received an email yesterday saying that only 8 out of my 11 items had been shipped.

3 of them were awaiting stock when I ordered, and I was aware of that, but there's no mention of the other 3 yet and I'm wondering if that means my orders will be shipped separately?

Aren't they meant to notify me of a split order if this happens? I'm concerned. I emailed them after receiving the "order shipped" email yesterday but still no reply.

No. You'll get your dispatch email for some items and then others will ship later. They don't hold an entire order of in stock items because some are coming from a warehouse/on order from distributor. This is especially the case because a lot of items ship from different stores so it all depends what's where.

Thanks for replying so quickly. This sets my mind at ease. I think I read elsewhere that JB are especially bad with notifying and updating payments and orders etc. I just thought I read something in the FAQ about an email notification if JB opts to split the order, but as long as they arrive, split or not, I'm happy. Thanks again.

I've given up on ordering from JB Hi Fi's online service... almost every time I have ordered from them, there has been a problem:

1) Ordered item, received an email update 2 weeks later saying it had been placed on back-order. It stayed this way for 2-3 months before I finally got an email saying the order had been cancelled.
2) Ordered 2 'online exclusive' signed albums that had a cardboard case. These were posted in a flimsy bubble-wrap envelope and both arrived with significant damage. They couldn't replace them for me so I ended up receiving credit for one of them.
3) Ordered 3 Buffy DVD sets - one arrived damaged, the other looked like a store return (set wasn't sealed, case had a price sticker peeled off and the discs had prints on them).

In theory, JB are usually great in-store (pricing wise, range and deals-wise), but I'll be avoiding their online service at all costs from now on.

I don't use their online store anymore, as I have to wait too long. If I have to order online due to no time to visit a store then I use Sanity.

Personally I love ordering from JB online. Although I have waited up to 3 weeks for non stocked 'ORDER' blus. Often those with 'ORDER' status are not in their shops anyway, & I got sick of wasting time going into their stores. Be patient, or do what I do, buy more blus while your waiting

I'm not so thrilled now that they've tacked on $0.99 shipping to an item instead of it being free.

Good thing I put an item through an order that I was in two minds about right before they've effected that change.

@insomniac

They've seriously added shipping now? Although it's only 99c an item I think that free shipping Australia wide was probably one of the only benefits of their online store.

I received my in stock items on Friday, and one of them had the shrink wrap dishevelled, case broken and fingerprints on the disc. It was the one I was most looking forward to as well. :\ My backorder items were shipped the day the rest of my order arrived. Hopefully they turn up intact.

The packaging they use is terrible. Which is the biggest issue for me. I know you can ask them to send the items in a box, but you shouldn't need to. They sent me 4 films in a jiffy bag the other day.
SO far I have not encountered any problems with Sanity

Unfortunately, yeah. I don't hate jbhifionline as much as some other do, but I agree that their free shipping australia wide was probably their only benefit. I can't bring myself to get enthusiastic about ordering through them now.

I asked JB to send the order I made a few weeks ago in a box, but they just ignored my request and sent them in jiffy bags instead. I really don't care if I have to pay extra for it, but I should have the option to have it sent the way I want. They didn't arrive in the greatest condition, so I took the titles into one of their stores and exchanged them. Personally I don't think they were damaged in the post, I believe that they had been mishandled by jb staff prior to shipping. Those were my 1st jb online orders, and after the state they arrived in I've decided that I will not be making online orders with them again. There are so many JB stores around close to me, so IMO it's kind of pointless to order from their online service when I can just quickly go up the road and get what I want right now instead of waiting for it, and at the same time I can see their condition before making my puchases.

I ordered the Robin Hood Steelbook from their online store as there werent any stock in the store nearby. It turned up with a dent so I put in a complaint via their online contact option and the manager of my local store replied saying that he has ordered in a few copies from other stores in Aus and will get me to come in and pick one when they have arrived. Im pretty happy with the outcome

Yeah, someone on here mentioned it about a week or so ago. But it seems they've finally effected it.

With the added shipping, I might as well stick to Sanity if I want to order something online. Since the price difference is often just a buck or two anyway if it's included in their 3 for $40 titles. Their packaging is far more secure and heaps quicker. Not to mention they have reward points.

Over here in NZ, Jb Hi Fi still has free shipping. (within NZ)

True, but that makes up for all the wrong orders or delays in shipping that plagues JB NZ.
