Default Toy Story 4?

Quote:
Tom Hanks says Toy Story 4 is happening!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. We've been flooded with word from UK readers that Tom Hanks let a little something slip while appearing on BBC's Breakfast Show promoting Larry Crowne regarding the future of the Toy Story series.

He said that he thinks it's happening and when pressed further said they're working on it currently. Interesting, but not exactly surprising. With Cars 2 out this past weekend, a sequel to Monsters Inc in the works and some whispers about a sequel to The Incredibles, Pixar isn't shying away from sequels.

So far every Toy Story film has been fantastic, so I guess Pixar's earned some trust, but I don't know where you can go from Toy Story 3, which to me seemed to be the perfect wrap-up film that gave us a thematic ending where the toys come to peace with their owners growing up and leaving them.

I'd personally be fine with them ending the series there and letting us visit these characters from time to time via Pixar shorts, but if they feel they have more stories to tell I'm down with it.

Thanks to Nabs, CrackerJack and Maverick for the heads up. What do you folks think of this development?

-Quint

I'd love to see another trilogy, but this time with Bonnie as their owner. But, come on, will Pixar ever give us fans the sequel we've really been waiting for (The Incredibles 2)?

I love Tom Hanks enough to watch him in any film he puts out and the franchise has enough goodwill with it to ensure fans will watch it but I would rather have it untouched if only for its sake because it's only a matter of time that the franchise will falter.

I think a perfect trilogy should be left alone..plus it ended nicely. Make another original film.

the trilogy is as close to perfect as you can get....don't know if there are any stories that can be told again.

A prequel about woody and andy? How they met? Woody realizing he can talk? Woody actually thinking he's a cowboy and not a "play thing"?

No to toy story 4. That's like eating steak and afterwards drinking bbq sauce straight out of the bottle. Impractical, stupid, retarded, a crime against cinema/eating

Just leave the damn perfect trilogy alone or I will cast a curse upon pixar for selling out

Based on the short before Cars 2... It will likely pick up following Bonnie? From Toy Story 3.

I do agree with you on that one!

But i'm sure if they approach it the right way they could do a prequel, with Woody, Bullseye, Jesse, Stinky Pete, you know the "Roundup Gang". But only if they can create something as great as the first Toy Story. What would be even cooler, and this maybe just applies to me; if they do do the Roundup Gang prequel, that it'd be in black in white. kinda how they showed the tapes in Toy Story 2. or kinda what "The Mist" did, in theaters its normal, then on Blu-ray, have an option to view it in Black and white.

No. Just, no.

Toy Story 3 was a perfect conclusion, let it rest there and stick to the little shorts before other movies.

Newt got cancelled because it was so similar to Rio and Pixar didn't want to come off as copying another studio. It sucks, but it may have been for the best...

As for Toy Story 4, I really don't want them to do it. Three was a perfect ending. Even the short felt sort of...unneeded. But we'll see what happens. Tom Hanks would know if Pixar was working on it.
