Recommend "religious" horror films - Blu-ray Forum

Hi all.

At the moment I have a lot of time to spare since I can`t do nothing else than sit or lie in bed because of 3rd degree burns on my toes...

I watched The Rite last night and enjoyed it a lot. I have always liked horror movies that have a "religious" theme. The Exorcist, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Omen have always made my hairs stand out...

Dunno why since I´m not that religious myself. So please recommend horror films like the ones mentioned above!

If you haven't seen it yet, and are looking for a religious horror/thriller movie that's pretty danged good, check out 'Frailty'. I think it's pretty awesome!

Rosemary's Baby, The Ninth Gate (more of a thriller than horror), The Order (another thriller, Heath Ledger FTW)

Does Constantine count as a religious horror film? It deals with a lot of theological elements.

I'm not good with Horror films, but I think here are a few that I've seen that have a little bit of religion thrown in there:

The Mist
[REC] & [REC]2 (aparrantly the sequel gets a little religious)
Also Kevin Smith's Red State is looking pretty good, however I doubt it'll be as horrifically terrifying as Cop Out

The Devil's Advocate.

Sure, you'll have to suffer through Keanu Reeves' abysmal southern accent, but Al Pacino's performance is something else (bonus points for nude Charlize Theron, and Connie Nielson

).

Insidious is sort of a spiritual film because the kid has the ability to leave his body and enter another dimension but ends up going into the wrong place.

I'm surprised that nobody's mentioned Angel Heart yet. It's a great movie and it's already available on blu-ray!

great movie but i wouldnt call it a horror movie. more of a noir film with supernatural elements.
