I find it funny that the mods are turning into the one mod that you guys had a major falling out with.

I think I made it pretty clear that we add sections etc... and allow things like the GC section to exist, as an added value to our members. Again, we're just asking you to not discuss certain topics, but because you can't discuss those, it's "We can't talk about anything.... woe is us"

I think you need to work on your reading comprehension skills.

Why don't you just ban me then?

I know you and John hate me.

The saddest part of all of this is I never had any gripes with you or John or anyone else EXCEPT jw.

I quit being a mod here because of Blue and jw. Not because of you guys.

Now it's you guys that act just like him.

I get that the owners want to keep this site family friendly and I'm okay with that. We do get to have some fun in here like the recent UPS thread that was deleted. This place is a lot more strict I also notice this place is incredibly lenient. I mean, you really have to be a douche to get banned.

So after the thread is deleted, move on. No biggie. I mean it kinda sucks that we can't make fun of people in here too much but it's not always bad.

This made me chuckle.

I would say these forums are too strict. Yes, somethings can get out of hand...but then again we're human. We have started wars.

"family-friendly" site? I'm sorry but I don't think saying "Damn, it's hot as HELL" is something I would say to a preschool class.
Half of the movies reviewed are not for children. I didn't know Kill Bill was, as I see it on sale for just $9.95 up there.

I mainly don't like hypocrisy or me getting points for every little thing. "Oh, you were console-baiting" when there was no evidence to support it. If language isn't being used and the debate isn't out of control...why even moderate?

You can get banned very easily if you don't kiss up to some mods. I've gotten points for things I did not do or others did but was never called out on.

Mike, it's cool, man. Don't egg them on to ban you.

No one here hates you. Sometimes it's not up to them to take certain actions - not that I'm defending everything they do. A lot of times I don't agree with it but at the end I just leave it alone.

Posting here really isn't all that important is it?

Well, it's a community that you can relate too that one chooses to spend their free time. The issue is that it feels more like a dictatorship more or less than something free. Sure, there needs to be rules but honestly I don't see the point of a discussion forum if I can't really discuss.

Seriously, many threads go well until ONE person fs it up. Just one. The UPS thread was actually getting pretty funny because of people misunderstanding the OP...the Orange_Green_Tea made a funny response thread.

I dunno. I think we're just supposed to talk about blu-rays. How 'bout only mods start topics for now on?

i understand the rules and whatnot about not posting about religion, sexual orientation, politics and all that but... what did the UPS thread have to do with that at all? and if someone started mentioning it, why can't the mods just delete THOSE posts and post about staying (somewhat) on topic?

but nope. whole thread gets deleted, and for what? seems like it's just easier to delete the whole damn thing than take the time to find the issue or person of issue and address that. big surprise

and family friendly site? since when? and why? do families gather around and read the threads? half the people that visit this site may not even know there is a forum if they miss the tab up top. i know i did the first 5 months i came here to check price

i'll state again, this is (still) one of the best sites on the web as far as community and whatnot, but it certainly isn't improving that standing. it was simply so far above the rest that even in these less than stellar days, it falls a bit, but is still above the rest.

Lolz, that's so true. I was looking At the Battlefield 3 thread where things got a bit crazy against Modern Warfare 3. Well, mods had to moderate and we we shouldn't have to do this. But isn't it your job to.....moderate.? I can basically troll a thread and the whoe thing gets locked/deleted.

Here's the thing, this is a dictatorship. Posting here is a privilege and a perk we get for visiting this site not a right just because we purchase things through the links. (I never purchase through the links here.)

Don't get me wrong, though. Like I said before, sometimes I think some decisions are not well handled but really, it isn't that hard to stay out of trouble here.

You are right about the "why discuss if we can't discuss" bit. But it's not all mods. I know exactly what you're talking about in the PS3 forum where you get points for just mentioning the Xbox or mentioning anything remotely negative about the PS3 even if you have a non-flaming, non-baiting attitude and clearly give your reasons for the negatives. So I found the most fool-proof way to avoid suspensions or bans. Want to know my secret? I stay out of the PS3 forum.

Lolz. I see your point. I'm not saying for the mods to let it be a free for all or we'll have something like The Misc on bb.com. But I just think it gets a little too tight sometimes.

First off, the past is the past...so stop wanting it back....move on!

Second, Blu-ray.com has without a doubt the best and most considerate Mods anywhere. The current team is the best team I've seen in the four years I've been here.

Third, for all those who think (inferred) we moderate based on friendship or not liking someone or because we are power-hungry....wake up and get real. I don't have time for that nonsense.

I just went through 10 pages of threads in the GC forum, and I found about a dozen or so out of 600 threads that were closed. I don't think that anyone can find that to be excessive!

Now, we aren't perfect and yes we make mistakes, but remember we are also members and do this voluntarily. If you have any concrete suggestions as to how we can improve, please provide them.
