Is the general consensus now we're not getting any TS 3D BDs this year?
Looks like it.

That would be great!!! It will be a 'must-have' for 3D enthusiast's collections while giving a new purchase impetus for the general population.
Most importantly, IMHO, it is not yet in an exclusive brand promotion offer that would delay a general release.

Default When are the 3D versions of Toy Story 1, 2, or 3 being released on Blu-ray 3D?

No hint anywhere on Blu-ray.com for any country or news of any promotion event.

Can some insider somewhere ask the Disney corporation if and when these films will be released on 3D Blu-ray? Needless to say that all 3 have already been presented in Theaters nationwide.

Today, doing a search in the Blu-ray.com 3D section, I have found that "Tangled" 3D will be released this spring and that both "The Lion King" 3D and "Beauty and the Beast" 3D will be released this Fall along with "The Nightmare Before Christmas" 3D. Other films mentioned from Disney / Buena Vista for release in 2011 are "Meet the Robinsons" 3D, "G-Force" 3D, "Chicken Little" 3D, "Bolt" 3D, and "Tron: Legacy" 3D.

Not even a blurb about "The Toy Story Trilogy" 3D Blu-ray discs.

It might come out in 2011 or it might not. It being released eventually is inevidible.

Its frustrating that Disney is giving 3D conversions to hand drawn titles but no word on Pixar catalogs. Since even if 3D does benefit hand drawn animation (something Im still skeptical about) it will surely not match a 3D rendering of a computer animated Pixar title.

Hopefully Finding Nemo will have a 3D version.

I personally think a 3D version of Wall-e would be brilliant as well. I think they should at least release the Pixar titles that have already been released theatrically in 3D. They certainly aren't testing the waters of 3D Blu-ray anymore, so why are they waiting?

Pixar movies are extremely popular and are considered classics by many. With the possible exceptions of The Nightmare Before Christmas and The Lion King most of the 2011 slate can't claim such. They are testing the waters with lesser catalogs before bringing out the big guns. Im sure eventually every Pixar title will be released on Blu-Ray 3D but its probably a ways off.

Personally Im just hoping they don't skip on 3D for Cars 2 and they release Finding Nemo in 3D with it (since its the last Pixar title to be released on Blu-Ray)

Thumbs down

They have already shown The Toy Story Trilogy on Sky over in jolly old England as I have copies of them so they are already converted don't know about a released date yet. It seems that some studios are really dragging their feet at releasing these movies to the general public Monster vs Aliens should be well out by now, and they did release Coraline exclusive but not Ice Age 3 given out as part of the same exclusive, this right now is so hit and miss and it seems to me that they want this to fail to some degree. Most blu ray release dates are known most of the time (not all) months in advance but with 3d blu rays it's almost like a mystery

They are not part of the same contract. Fox owns Ice Age 3 while Universal owns Coraline. Starting with Despicable Me Universal seems to be supporting general retail 3D. Fox has yet to release a single title though admittingly they have very few theatrical 3D titles to release. Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs may come out sometime in 2011 for general retail but Avatar definutely won't.

I was talking general more about length of time, that it has been exclusively available, not really studio a/b/ or c. It's converted way wait ??? I know that some Producers still control some of the movies coming to blu ray 2d or 3d or Star Wars would have been release A LONG LONG TIME AGO maybe it was in a GALAXY FAR FAR AWAY

Finding Nemo in 3D will be incredible, that and Nightmare Before Christmas is what I am looking forward to. My ultimate wish is for Avatar Extended Directors Cut 3D, and one where they don't skimp on the 3D effects like they did for the exclusive Avatar 3D, it seems like some scenes where you think 3D would be awesome, is so-so.

I agree Nemo would be a good one for 3D. Pixar however likes the sublte kind of 3D. I saw TS 1&2 when they were released last year in a theater in 3D and I was taking my glasses off constantly cause I hardly saw any 3D. I felt gyped. I think they are on record as saying they aren't into pop outs but their 3D is too subtle.

I disagree. I like the 3D as a subtile enhancement and too much added pop out would have been distracting. For example when Buzz reaches for Woodys hand in the incinerater it would have distracted from the seriousness of the scene if it had pocked the audience in the face. Pixar instead made it deep into the screen depth in order to give the scene more life without any distraction.

Pixar's 3D in my opinion is exceptional just like everything else they do.

Yessss... Pixar are amazing.... it's not often the Pop-up off the screen 3D... but The 3D is so nice and very smooth.

I saw UP and it was purely perfect and for Toy Story 3.... Amazing....

I just hope they release them quick....

I have to admit, speaking as a fan of the 3D format, I didn't feel TS3 (or 1 & 2 for that matter) benefited from 3D in the slightest. It looked "just OK". I certainly won't be double dipping for the inevitable 3D Blu-ray set of the Toy Story Trilogy.

UP on the other hand was one of the best 3D experiences I have ever had! That film earns a guaranteed double dip from me!

I won't be double dipping either. Disney didn't get my money for the current 2D-Blu-ray Toy Story Trilogy that has been released. I LOVE the 3D versions and that is the reason why I'm waiting.
