That's about $20 difference from what Boomerang added up to. If they come back in stock there, I'm switching!!!

Edit: one thing that concerns me slightly is that K2DVD's picture looks like a stickerbook (or maybe dark brown painted sides?), while the Boomerang pic clearly has matching painted sides. Now, I'm sure it's the same SB with different early concept pics...but still .

Is it just me, or does the K2DVD version look like G1, whereas the Boomerang version looks G2?

There is a gap above the "Diamond Edition" title that is present with the K2DVD version, but not the Boomerang one.

Argh, I just checked the board and all versions are already sold out.

Mind blown. I always avoided ordering there because I thought everything was sold out.
How does boomerang package their Steelbooks and how is their customer service like? I have had very good experience with K2DVD with both their packaging and their customer service so I try to order there now if I can.

Edit: I just placed my order, so I do not actually have to pay or enter my credit card until the item is in stock? When I ordered it says it is on backorder I think (so it does this for all pre-orders not in stock?).

Their steelbooks come packaged very well a durable cardboard box and your item will be delivered very quickly. You will receive an e-mail stating that you need to enter your payment information to complete your purchase once the item is available and failure to do so within 7 days will result in the cancellation of your order. Just giving you a heads up that you're going to be blown away by the shipping costs. Last time I ordered a steel to be delivered to the US from Boomerang the shipping cost was $36.

Yes, I can see that too...that and the stickerbook-esque paint job makes the K2DVD mock-up look odd. I know in all likelihood that they will be the exact same SB...but you never know .

Thanks, actually I managed to grab a copy from K2DVD while I was riding on the transit. I e-mailed them about a possible re-stock and they e-mailed me back when they did re-stock so I quickly placed an order over my phone.
I also just sent them an e-mail to confirm that it is a G2 Steelbook, so hopefully it is (if not, I will have the Boomerang order as backup).

I have a preorder for the 3D amaray for $27 after taxes. I think I'm gonna stick with that - not too impressed with the artwork, even if it's embossed. It's not worth paying twice as much. Slip cover would be just as nice.

Currently sold out at K2DVD but I was able to preorder the Korean version from Yesasia for $52.99 + free shipping.

Yesasia Link

The Lion King 3D Blu-ray

K2DVD price including Airmail shipping (to US) costs about $57 or $58. It's cheaper at Yesasia.

The Taiwan version (at Yesasia), if I remember correctly, costs $55. So the Korean version appears to be cheaper by $2.

That sucks... K2DVD is actually $2.5US cheaper for me but they charge your card immediately... already ordered yesterday. I did search yesasia but they didn't have it listed yesterday

is there no where on the site that list's postage costs?

I've just 'ordered' a copy (I think) but didnt enter any payment details - which is actually kinda nice.

we are talking about boomerangshop yes? here is their guide to shipping: http://www.boomerangshop.com/web/UserGuide_Ship_En.aspx

how they compute shipping: shipment charge + no. of shipment units x unit charge.

Example: Standard shipping to U.S. (zone 3) is 800 baht + 8 (for lion king) x 60 = 1280 baht ($42.5)

Paid an extra $3 going with K2DVD but I know they package the steelbook with lots a bubble wrap and in a box. I have always received a mint copy. I can't say the same for yesasia, playasia or any of the Amazon sites.

+1 K2DVD knows collector wants minty steelbook so they will send out a dentless steel.

Others report that they have received dented steel from them before because they send it out in an envelope with bubble wrap.

both great shop, but if you are going to order a steel, then k2dvd is the best route. with yesasia, you just pray that they send you a dentless steel in the first place and pray that that the shipping courier did not step on it
