I can see where the show is going but what are they going to do past season 2 or so? Eventually she'll get her revenge on everyone.
This show is in the same basket as Prison Break, the original premise of the show only lasts 1-2 seasons but they'll might come up with bs to keep it going longer. |

The last show I watched on DVD actually looked really good, when I expected it to look bad in comparison. |

Season 2 has way too many subplots(Emily's mom coming and going, the Grayson family drama, the mob brothers and the bar, Aiden, the Carrion program, the Initiative) and has become so convoluted that I don't even know who I'm supposed to be rooting for anymore. They've sidelined a great character like Nolan and put a lame character like Aiden in his place. And this show is still about Emily/Amanda trying to clear her father's name and destroy the Graysons, right? Sometimes it's hard to tell. I get that the show is(or at least was) a hit for ABC and they want to milk it for all it's worth, but I think it would've been better(and ballsier) to wrap up the Grayson/David Clarke storyline and move onto something else. But keeping that going while adding in a bunch of new stuff, it dilutes the entire show and turns it into a bad soap opera. |

Season 2 has been complete crap. Revenge was my MUST WATCH show last season; I would talk about it with friends and coworkers for the next 5 days trying to figure out what would happen next. Now the show is just there and I am barely maintaining interest.
They jumped the ship with TOO MANY subplots and needless character development. I left the end of Season 1 desperately want Jack/Delan/Charlotte/Fauxmanda being killed off because they truly were just plot devices with no real meat to their characters. Charlotte grew some balls in the first few episodes of this season so she got dropped from the list but the other 3 have become even more dull and basic than last season. Jack/Fauxmanda are just there, they have no real necessity anymore other than to interact with the protagonists. Declan is nothing more than a d-character with no real storylines at this point. If Jack/Declan/Fauxmanda were all killed off in the alluded boat scene at the season premiere, I would be nothing but elated. Getting into all the new storyline arcs is also has what caused this show to be brought down almost instantaneously. The bar storyline with the two brothers and the drugs is the most pointless storyline ever. It was nothing more than a pawn to keep Jack/Declan on the show and have them with something to do, and at this point it really is pointless since Conrad allegedly bought them out, so where does it go now? It's so dull. Aidan was another unnecessary character to introduce this season. He's nothing more than Emily's wingman in her futile attempts to infiltrate the newly found out Initiative. The Initiative itself was a fantastic idea to introduce but the way they have gone about it has been so haphazard and careless. They were just thrown at us randomly without any real exposition. At the beginning of one episode you find out Conrad had someone controlling the pawn's and you're thinking "ooh I wanna know who it is! But they'll drag it out all season" and then at the episode you see Helen Crawley and find out they're a group of powerful people known as The Initiative. It was seemingly pointless and the way they are going about it is boring as well. The show has really lost its spark; instead of the show being about Emily's warpath to getting her father vengeance, its slowly turned into ALIAS Jr., where Emily seems like a parody of Sydney Bristow. They throw in Emily's returning mother to give her emotional depth but the scenes they filmed in the hospital together were so jarring and unnatural. There was no real tension on Emily's behalf, but then she would suddenly leave the room and be an emotional breakdown mess. I have already given up on Once Upon a Time as the show, well into its 6th episode, proved the whole fairytale thing can only work for so long and the second Emma/Snow went back to fairytale land and began their dumb journey with Hook and Cora, was nothing more than a filler for a real storyline. I want to catch up but I just can't get into it to do so. With Revenge, I still see a glimmer of season 1. Emily/Nolan was the shows highlight. They had such a loving brother/sister relationship without showing any real emotion, that you rooted for them. Now, Emily has ruined Nolan's company, and he seems like his character itself is lost. I hope this show goes somewhere because last season was actually interesting, EVERY episode; this season Mike Kelley is failing to deliver. We are coming up on Episode 13 and Mike was teasing interviewers before this season started that Episode 13 is the BIG breakthrough episode, but the previews make it seem like another tepid ass episode. /end rant. |

I agree with the bar subplots Jack and Declan has always been dull characters since the beginning of the show and the actor don't help to bring some life to them. That storylike is unnecesary I will be happy to see Declan specially killed in the boat sinking episode.
I kinda of think the Initiative storylike, makes sense... in a way to make the show longer.. because if they still focus on the maine storyline they will ran out of plot really quickly.. that doesn't mean it's good I'm just pointing out that it creatively make sense. But I don't think the show has lost the spark it had, we just have to give it more time, maybe I'm too optimistic. What I agree on it's that they need more Emily / Nolan scenes.. they have been so little this season, I was actually happy that at the beginning of the season they were going to be roomies but that didn't last. I think Aidan fits better with Emily that Jack or Daniel, just my opinion ![]() But I can see why many people doesn't like the direction the show has been taking in s2.. maybe for most of the people it will just be a One Season Wonder. I still enjoy it very much. |
