Exactly. Which is why I am MORE than happy to shell out the $40.

Now, where is that Fright Night cover art!?

I would like to have this one, but not at that amount. Not nearly that much.

Ordered mine, too. Mysterious Island was one of my childhood favorites along with The Valley of Gwangi and Jason and the Argonauts. I first saw all three in a Saturday matinee at a movie theater on an army base in West Germany. Every Saturday, they played all day 1950s, 60s, and 70s monster movies, live-action Disney films (Love Bug, etc), and Tarzan flicks (anyone remember Ron Ely?) for army brat kids like me. Later saw it again on TV on a creature feature show.

I've ordered; I'm also curious to see how fast this sells compared to 'The Egyptian' (which in turn will give an indication as to how fast 'Fright Night' might go when preorders open for it).

IMO, this will definitely sell better than The Egyptian, but Fright Night will probably be the only one to sell out.

I'm interesting in owning this movie, but the $40 price tag is really holding me back. On top of that, I'm not familiar with this studio, so I'm uncertain if the video quality will justify the $40 price tag.

no need to be concerned about quality. Sony is providing the restored materials, and it will be a quality release.
btw: I pre-ordered also, and even though--like any sensible person--I wish it were priced lower, I still choose to continue to support this company because this is the only way these films will be coming to blu. I will say I expect this release to have English subs, and if it doesn't I'm not sure I will support them much in the future. Not including subs--like The Egyptian release--will leave a very bad taste in my mouth, so I hope they don't make that inexcusable mistake again.

I'll buy it when the price comes down .For $40 I'd want a whole TV Series for my money.

Kind of fuzzy on the pre-order payment details, if someone else can help me out. Pre-auth'd, as in it will still show as a charge on my billing statement, before November?

most incredible news ever--
"Some of the other titles planned for the near future (through the early part of 2012)[for release through TT] are Picnic, Bell Book and Candle, Pal Joey, Bite the Bullet, Major Dundee, and The Big Heat."
OMG!!

Yeah, it appears that some people think that these will be released everywhere and like other mainstream releases, are subject to eventual price drops. I hope that people interested in this preorder, because ignoring releases like this just tells the studios that other less-mainstream titles aren't in demand.

I just pre-ordered mine. With my bank, the charge is pending until Friday. Then that money will be returned to my account. Of course, taken out again when shipped around the 8th of next month.
