Mine would fully support this as long as the hottie is paying her portion of the bills.

I've been several times by myself when I couldn't get anyone else to go. Almost every single time I was the only person in the room because my local theater is a complete dump that hasn't been renovated since 1982. It's always weird having the room to yourself (especially when it's a horror movie).

i usually go alone and i love it. its a lot better than being with someone who usually asks a bunch of questions.

when u go alone its just u and the movie..

Absolutely. If friends or family don't want to come with me, then I go by myself. For certain movies, I'd even prefer it, since someone constantly sighing next to me would ruin the experience for me too.

Absolutely positively yes. In fact, I prefer the solo movie-viewing experience. I watch a lot of foreign and non-mainstream films which have little appeal to the general populace. Not to mention, even if I rope in someone to come along, I'd worry if they're un-engaged or just plain disinterested since there is a high likelihood the movie I'm watching doesn't have generic mass appeal.

If I had any qualms about going to theater alone I would've missed out on so many incredible films.

I agree. I have not gone alone much but have done it before (the Halloween remake in 2007 was the last one) Going w/ someone who you DRAG into going isnt much fun when they dont care to see the movie and are unwilling to enjoy it.

On the other hand most people who see other people sitting in the theatre alone will think they are a loser. its human nature, i dont agree w/ it but i understand it happens. There is a stigma attached to it.

I used to go to the movies with my family a lot as a kid, but in recent years that's changed. I don't have many friends offline, and the majority of films I like are ones my mother and sister could generally care less about. Usually, I only go during the summers and Christmas every year, and most of the time its just me.

When my wife isn't interested in seeing a particular movie, I have no problems with going to watch it by myself.

I actually enjoy being by myself and watching a movie in a theater. I've never once felt uncomfortable.

Most of the movies I have seen this year at the theaters (23 and counting), I have seen by myself. A lot of these movies I may end up seeing again with my girlfriend, but the initial viewing is usually just me. Nothing wrong with it at all.

I like to see movies during the weekday becasue the ticket price is cheaper and there aren't as many people there. I have found that for the most part, the people who visit theaters during the weekday are there to actually watch the movie (imagine that!) and not screw around on their cellphones or talk to others during the movie.

I take a few hours off from work to go see movies during the weekday, but my girlfriend does not like to do this...she isn't a big movie nerd like me . That's really the only reason I see a lot of movies solo.

And I don't care what anyone else says....there are few things more awesome than going to a movie and having the entire theater to yourself. It doesn't happen a lot, but when it does it is AWESOME

I do all the time. I usually go to the matinees just because less rowdy kids. My wife goes with me to the bigger event movies, but then I have to go to the Twilight movies with her.

Agreed 100%. Its so much easier to relax and enjoy the experience, without a lot of distractions going on.

The stigma is unjustified, I think. You're sitting in the dark, and talking during a movie is generally viewed as incredibly annoying, so I don't see the advantage of going with someone else. Of course, talking about the movie afterward can be fulfilling, but that's about it. That's not to say that going together with a group can't be enjoyable, but some folks are looking into it way too much.
