Haha, yeah. Luckily, I have an iPad now so I was able to do that.

I'm not to keen on wandering into lots of stores with my iPad, so I might do walk-ins with that only randomly. It would have been much simpler and less noticeable if I had a newer model iPod Touch, but no biggie.

A little trick - you can usually park your car in front of Best Buy and roll down your window. When the door opens (someone leaves or goes in), the tone is strong enough for your device to pick up.

Good day to try as they're having 200-pt walk-in's today only.

Shopkick is having their Black Friday 2 event today.. 200 kicks for walk-ins at
participating stores (only ones around me were for BestBuy and Old Navy)
I was able to couple the walk-ins with my 2x bonus for 400 kicks for each.. plus
there are tons of scanning opportunities today

all told I was able to rack up 1450+ kicks today not to mention another 878
kicks for making a purchase at Wet Seal for the wife.. but those kicks will take
45 days to credit in my account.. almost have enough for a $20 gift certificate
to help me out on Tuesday's new releases

Can someone give me the basics on Shopkick? I kept hearing about it and finally downloaded it to my phone, but I still don't know how this all works. What do I do? How do I get points? How do I find out when they're having these specials? Like someone mentioned watching a commercial got you points. How does that work, and how would I have found out about that?

What to do: download the app, visit the app daily and walk into the store with the app open.

How to get points: walking into stores, scanning barcodes and visiting the app daily tapping into stores giving "kicks"

Finding specials: visit the app daily, "Like" their Facebook page or "Follow" on Twitter

Commercials: Random but follow their social media for fast alerts and also again visit the site daily.





I have enough for $100 purchase at BestBuy which I think I'll use either on a Bose dock, Wii U or the rumored iPad Mini.....or just collect it until Black Friday.

I did. Not saying its bad but the older version seemed alittle easier to navigate. Need to fiddle with it a bit more.

i'm kinda wary of updating because of the feedback i've been reading on facebook as well as on google play, and also on the permissions that it says it can make automatic calls on your behalf.

If you like to scan stuff in store. There doesn't seem to be a way to show a store that isn't close. Unlike before, where all the stores were listed and you could click them.

also, it really sucks that removed the icon in the upper left hand corner. Now your not entirely sure if your in the right spot in the store to get the walk in kicks.

Shopkick changed their offer at Best Buy a bit..

now you get 2 kicks per $1 spent no matter what your purchase.. plus if you
hit certain price points you get additional bonus kicks

$50 = 250 kicks
$100 = 750 kicks
$150 = 1,500 kicks

picked up the 3 Bond exclusives along with Magic Mike while using $20 in RZ
Certs so my total came out to 32.96 before tax

however Shopkick issued me 354 kicks.. guessing it registered the 52.96 total
before my $20 in RZ Certs.. 52 x 2 + 250

nice thing is that it instantly credits you instead of like with Toys R Us
purchases where you have to wait for the return period.. now just 71 kicks
away from 5000 and another $20 BB Cert

I agree the update is horrible and hard to get used to, but I have also stacked up twice as many SK points as I normally would have before the update.

The new version does take some getting used to, but they were offering lots of walk-in kicks that first week. I think I got 700-800 points each day for 3-4 days. It's slowed down now, but I still get quite a bit of the onesy-twosy's that I can do while sitting at work.
