Moviegoer sues over lack of action in 'Drive'

Suing to get your money back. That is so ridiculous. Trailersa and other promotional materials are made to get you to buy a ticket. They are not guaranteeing you will like the movie. Only movie, in my recollection, they offered money back for was the Attenborough's Miracle On 34th Street.

Obviously she won't "win" her frivolous attempt at ATTENTION. I didn't particularly love the movie, and it Was misleading in the trailers/ads that most of us saw. Yes, there IS very little Driving, based on what you're lead to believe, but it does have a few different storylines interweaving thru-out, & it doesn't Suck overall. MANY people LOVED it, I thought it was decent, just not what I expected based on what the studio showed us beforehand.

It was more of a suspense/drama than an Action movie with a lot of Driving...

That movie also question the state and fanaticisms of religion, and it's dangers to society. I have not seen Drive; being sued for anti-semiticism, but I imagine it's questioning more about the territorial aspects of religions; how they isolate and detriment people, and it's never better than racism.

Two of the lead characters are Jewish gangsters. If that's all it takes to make a movie anti-semitic then Goodfellas and The Godfather must be prejudiced against Italian Americans. The woman who filed this lawsuit is clearly an idiot.

By the way, Drive is my favorite movie of the year so far. I'm certainly glad it wasn't an imitation of The Fast and the Furious, like certain litigious idiots would have preferred.

From the trailer, I thought it was going to be like the Transporter. I was very pleasantly surprised that it was nothing like that. I love the soundtrack, the cast, and pretty much everything about it. I love movies that goes beyond my expectation - and trailer did have a hand in that. Definitely a surprise movie of this year, and I am definitely looking forward to buying the blu-ray. I might even buy the soundtrack.

People are suing for every ridiculous things these days. Is this serious though? Isn't hiring a lawyer more expensive than getting just the $12 back?

The possibility exists of obtaining damages plus legal fees paid.

The possibility exists of having damages awarded against you(and being bankrupted) and the possibility of charges for bringing a frivolous lawsuit.
Although on a positive note these types of lawsuits quite often result in First Amendment rights being restated in favour of scriptwriters and directors
