Agreed. They have TONS of movies that I'm looking forward to in their library.

My January is already jam-packed. Does anyone know if this will come with a slipcover? If not, I have no problem waiting until the "slower" month of February to pick it up. Thanks.

I'm excited for both of these, but if the DPS BD doesn't have the extended cut (which is likely the case) I'll be hanging on to my Laserdisc. Sigh.

Best Buy

As long as they don't bump up the price (unlikely), both of these will be available for $9.99 each at Best Buy with a DVD trade in (see Hot Deals for details).

It's really sad that the deleted scenes haven't been given an official release since laserdisc. I'll have to post them on youtube.

Is the French audio track a Parisian one, or a Canada dub?
Thank you!

Got my copy of DPS today and I am very very disappointed in the transfer. Very soft image showing not much detail. Also the colors look washed-out. Maybe an improvement over the dvd but still disappointing.
It's region A,B and includes some nice extra features though.

It would appear that the folks over at Blu-ray.com strongly disagree with your evaluation of the PQ:

Looking at that the screenshots in that review, I would strongly agree that the PQ doesn't look so hot at all. I mean, the reviewer said the movie has a good bit of softness and wow, does it show in those shots, let alone the washed out look. From those shots, it rightly looks like 3.0, maybe less to others. Just because something is "faithful" to the original or another popular word this site likes to use "filmic", doesn't change the fact that the image is soft, washed out and lacks any punch. It's a poor example of Blu-ray and certainly doesn't deserve that rating it got. I don't care if the PQ is faithful and filmic, if it was shot that way and looks like doo-doo, then the PQ is doo-doo. Don't try to flower it up with words, similar to what you see in house ads, like unique fixer-upper, etc.

"Faithful" does the trick for me. The shots look good. No waxy DNR, no EE. Sold.

I agree as well. I'd much rather have 'Faithful' than the alternative of being way over processed.

It didn't, al9011 posted a pic and no slip. Disney live action older catalog titles usually don't get slips. Rocketeer didn't either which was a bummer.

Default Disney, say it aint so....

Wow! From looking at the screens for both Dead Poets Society and Good Morning Vietnam, I'd say Disney screwed things up. How sad that either movie didn't get a quality transfer, let alone restore. My respect for them just took a hit.
