Free roam swinging..... anyone? Lol!
Its out next week and wont be delayed to conicde with the movie release bc its not based directly on the movie. The story takes place after the movie's events and while set in the same universe, will be its own independent thing. I think thats for the best as it gives the developers alot more freedom

I bought two previous Spidey titles because I was interested in the whole swinging about the city aspect. But the games quickly turn into a repetitive beat up bad guys, random side mission, beat boss game.
I got bored...fast. Similar to how I got bored with inFamous.

Batman AA / AC are similar but the combat system makes it more entertaining to beat up random thugs.

I'll wait for a couple of reviews. If they're good, I might pick it up after a price drop.

Yeah I agree, the last few Spidey games have been pretty pitiful but I'm hopeful for this one!

I'll be getting it on release, 29 June but I'd like to read at least one review before I do!

I looked everywhere I can think but can't find anything!

My bad, IGN hasnt posted theirs yet. There was one here though: http://www.marveltvnews.com/2012/06/...me-xbox360ps3/

Its since been removed though, likely bc Activision has it on embargo till tomorrow. They had given it a 7.5

I picked this up today on the PS3, good looking graphics, plays like Spiderman 3 did (which I liked). Only done the first mission so far but it's fun to swing around the city.

One interesting note, this game cam with a slip cover which is the first time I've seen one on a game.

Do you eventually run out of webbing or did they not add that in as a game mechanic for the sake of gameplay I would imagine.

You don't run out of webbing but you can upgrade you webbing as you progress.

How is it in terms of detail in the buildings, landmarks, etc? Is it an accurate representation of NYC? Ever since I was there over Christmas I've been itching for a good free roam game with a good depiction of the city.

It's kind of hard to say. Some things are like times square.

I called it back in March! "Fights are modeled directly after Rocksteady's Batman Games"

The Captain America game was fun, it was the best movie based game I ever played .. but thats not saying much =P All in all, it wasn't as good as the Arkham series and it didn't offer anything fresh. Hope this Spider-man game isn't a repeat of that.

Been reading very positive word of mouth so far. Seems that they haven't quite done for Spidey what Rock Steady did for Batman, but it's close. A few have criticized the fighting as being modeled after Batman, but I don't know how that can be a bad thing; Batman's combat system is the most sophisticated/interesting combat system I've played.

Sounds like graphics might be the weakest link. Though, I've yet to figure out if the few complaints I've read were based on subjective comparisons of how the visual style compared to Batman, or how elaborately detailed the graphics actually are.

A couple people mentioned that there appeared to be movie spoilers in the game. I hope not - doesn't make sense to put spoilers in a game that streets before the movie. But, I'm thinking about watching the movie first just to play it safe. Amalur should keep me busy for another month anyway.
