Same here. Great movie and 3D. Paramount is holding out...

As far as Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D, I was wondering about this one for awhile. Glad it's finally making it to 3D. This can only be a sign that things are turning around for the better for 3D sales. No?

If the 3D pops as well as suggested earlier, I may have to consider this one. It looks like a nice popcorn adventure movie.

I saw it when it came out in theaters. Someone mentioned 2008 but I'm sure it was 2009 as the movie began my string of watching tons of 3D movies with the wife in theaters. I don't remember it making a big impression on me then so 'll have to watch it again to see if the story holds up. As for the 3D, I remember it being good. From the trailer, Journey 2 will have better looking locations. The BB price sure is jacked way up. I'm sure they will bring that down in a sale but otherwise I wouldn't even think about buying it at that price which should be cut in half if you ask me.

I thought this was a good family movie and enjoyed the anaglyph 3D version. It will need to drop to around $25 for me to buy it again though.

If you live near Atlanta, Stone Mountain Park has a "4D" version of this. It's only 10 minutes or so, but is a nice experience if you are at the park anyway.

I use to party when I was a kid at Stone Mountain. Great place to party...

Just saw the anaglyph version last weekend. It has so much ghosting and the cardboard "glasses" are uncomfortable, not to mention the freaky and dark color shift.

Since I personally like Journey To Te Center Of The Earth so much (fun! fun! fun!) this new 3D version has the potential to be visually spectacular and loaded with "pop-outs." I am hoping for a really good 3D master.

Can't wait to see it!
Sounds promising.

Nice. I'll have to buy the 3D version now. Will also see the 3D sequel in theaters. I like the Rock also. I got it mixed up, is the sequel releasing Feb 10, 2012 or the blu ray 3D of Part 1? Either way, that's the day Star Wars I 3D releases in theaters. That's can't be good if both theatrical movies release the same day, unless I'm mistaken about it. Most people will only see one movie per theater visit.

Beowulf 3D Blu Ray needs to be released in 2012 already. Paramount is sitting on it with a 'wait and see' attitude, probably after getting burned with its investments in HD-DVD.

Referring to the original with Fraser, and/or the sequel? I'm guess you're referring to the original. I didn't know this, thanks.

The Rock is a decent actor and has the muscle to kick @ss onscreen, IMO. Caine will add class to the film also.

Saw the new trailer last night and it really has a lot of great 3D goodness Can't wait to buy this 3D version in 2 weeks. I did watch the original in "3D" but it won't be the same with this version coming. Must buy for me. Hope the price is right. Maybe I can do the Best Buy Upgrade & Save deal.

I haven't actually seen this one, but I'll give the 3D disc a try based on all the feedback here, and the fact the sequel looks promising for an adventure movie in 3D.

I saw this for $30.43 at Overstock.com

http://www.overstock.com/Books-Movie...1/product.html

Unfortunately, the shipping charge is $2.95, which will bring the cost to $33.38. Which is higher than Amazon's price with free shipping, $32.99. Crap, you just can win...

Anyone know if another vendor is selling JTCE 3D cheaper?

I ain't given up no 32 bucks for no frigin 3D moodee!

Seven more days until Journey To The Center of the Earth 3D is released. As of today it is still listed at $32.99 on amazon and $42.99 on BestBuy.com.

I hope the price comes down come release day.

Me too... I can't see paying no stinking $30 for a 3D flick, besides, this will be a double dip for me. I got both, the 3D (sucky) and the 2D versions. Can't wait to get the REAL 3D copy, just wished they would drop the price about $15 or at least allow the previous buyers get a better deal...

Agreed. The price needs to be reasonable for Journey 1 3D. For me, $22.99 is a fair price and I am sure it will come with Movie Cash to see Journey 2 Mysterious Island.

Where is that Annie Chu from The Examiner? Doesn't she always reveal Best Buy's BD prices a week ahead of time? Chinese New Year is on January 23rd. It's the year of the dragon so maybe she's on vacation.

What a rotten time for her to be off. We need info NOW!

And whatever happened to Captain Blu-ray? He works at Best Buy and he used to give us lots of advance info. Maybe he quit or got laid off after the holidays.

Does anyone know if I can use the Best Buy upgrade and save $5 coupon promotion towards the purchase of Journey To The Center of the Earth 3D?

Promotion details here.

Best Buy will accept an old DVD at the customer service desk and give you a $5 coupon that must be used on the day you get the $5 coupon.

I would like to use the $5 coupon to buy Journey To The Center of the Earth 3D. PLUS, I have a $5 Rewards Zone certificate. I hope Best Buy will allow it.

Where are the pre-order deals on this one? The cheapest I can find is Amazon for $32.99. I thought movies were always the cheapest on release day.

Wow, where did this release come from? There was no fanfare for this one at all, it's an under-the-radar release kind of like Kung Fu Panda 1. Glad to see it finally come out though! I saw it in 3D at the theaters and while I wasn't doing backflips over the story, I really loved the 3D in it and felt it was worth it just for that. It had excellent depth and popout throughout. I bought the anaglyph 3D version when it came out (before 3D TVs) and it was a big disappointment. Watching it in 2DBD was equally disappointing, the detail is great but it just highlighted how much the movie was made for 3D, it just doesn't work in 2D like it does in 3D. I'll definitely be picking this one up!
