They were also cheap for the first 2 years they released BDs as many contained lossy audio so they could fit on a BD-25. I am still waiting for lossless releases of several of their BDs that were initially released with lossy audio.

This "cheap" company, in pledging allegiance to blu-ray, is what killed HD-DVD. Last edited by retablo; 11-02-2011 at 08:48 PM. |

And Blu-ray has been on the market for what, 5 years now? How much damn time do they need? You can't tell me a billion dollar studio "needs time" to release these films. They have the resources. I don't. Do you? Last edited by BluPat; 11-02-2011 at 09:17 PM. |

And, like everyone has already stated, it costs them next to nothing to throw together combo packs from pre-existing masters. Why is it cheaper than individual releases? Because the cases and the artwork are the most expensive part of the disc. So, less cases, cheaper overhead. In regards to double packs like Elm Street II & III, I'm pretty sure their market research told them it would be more cost effective to release them together, and get more sales from a 2-pack than waste individual releases for now on titles that probably won't sell many copies. All it takes is a little understanding of the business. Apparently I get that her up on my "high horse". It's a pretty cool place to be. Last edited by retablo; 11-02-2011 at 09:24 PM. |

That said, both of those aren't multi-disc sets; both Last Boy Scout/Last Man Standing and Desperado/El Mariachi are single disc releases with both films on the same disc. In those two cases, considering we haven't seen any kind of trend from either Warner or Sony for breaking up similar packages, I wouldn't hold my breath on a double-dip, unless the film has some major spike in popularity or some anniversary that gives cause for a renewed effort. Desperado is probably the only one of the four that might attract a large enough crowd. If you really love either movie, you're not doing yourself any favors by waiting. If anything, buying what's already available encourages a newer, better release. Not that I don't get your reasoning. I'm just saying... |

This and Daredevil were certainly stains on Colin Ferrel's career. He has done much better films such as In Bruges, Minority Report, and Horrible Bosses.
