Bottom line is I think WB has enough money to release movies that are not out on Blu-ray. They need to stop being cheap. They already went cheap on disc art.

I'm in the same boat. There are a couple of odd movies I would like to have, but I don't want the other two that come with them.

They were also cheap for the first 2 years they released BDs as many contained lossy audio so they could fit on a BD-25. I am still waiting for lossless releases of several of their BDs that were initially released with lossy audio.

Why don't they just lower the price of the individual movies so people can pick up what they want.

Agree, and this three movies titles that have vastly different first letters of their title malarkey totally through off my numerical system.

LOL so $25 MSRP, which means around $18 on amazon for 3 films ($6 each), isn't a good price?

The do, plus they have the largest movie library of any studio. Even so, do you think they just flip a switch and a blu-ray comes out? It takes time to prepare a film for release. They can't just release 200 titles every week. This is not a new practice.

This "cheap" company, in pledging allegiance to blu-ray, is what killed HD-DVD.

Oh come off your high horse dude. Warner Brothers is being cheap, plain and simple. As someone else said, they should just lower the prices of the single releases that are part of this unnecessary triple feature BS. Buy all of them if you want to. Who cares. But 'Jason X' and 'Jason Goes To Hell' haven't been released yet. But let's "flip a switch" as you put it and throw 'Friday the 13th' (2009), A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010), and Freddy VS Jason on a triple feature. No, Elm Street 4-7. No Exorcist II-III-prequel(s), etc.

And Blu-ray has been on the market for what, 5 years now? How much damn time do they need? You can't tell me a billion dollar studio "needs time" to release these films. They have the resources. I don't. Do you?

Were you even around for DVD? Did you happen to notice DVD is, what, 15 years, and there are still titles that aren't released. When films were made before home video, there was no clause in the contracts for that... so every film had to be renegotiated for VHS... then DVD... and most likely, now blu. I'm sorry that you're impatient and that things take time. Especially with blu-ray, which, as you should know, requires much more care in creating a quality transfer than DVD. But hey, if you want crappy DVD retreads, I'm sure they can oblige. I mean, such classics like Jason X are sorely missed on blu.

And, like everyone has already stated, it costs them next to nothing to throw together combo packs from pre-existing masters. Why is it cheaper than individual releases? Because the cases and the artwork are the most expensive part of the disc. So, less cases, cheaper overhead. In regards to double packs like Elm Street II & III, I'm pretty sure their market research told them it would be more cost effective to release them together, and get more sales from a 2-pack than waste individual releases for now on titles that probably won't sell many copies.

All it takes is a little understanding of the business. Apparently I get that her up on my "high horse". It's a pretty cool place to be.

I'd be up for Poseidon/The Perfect Storm/Twister.

I'm definitely considering that set, along with the one with The Searchers. Surprised I don't have any of those yet except HTWWW.

I find the best way to get the release I want, is to buy the one I don't: Sure enough, a better edition will be announced soon after - should be one of Murphy's Laws.

That said, both of those aren't multi-disc sets; both Last Boy Scout/Last Man Standing and Desperado/El Mariachi are single disc releases with both films on the same disc. In those two cases, considering we haven't seen any kind of trend from either Warner or Sony for breaking up similar packages, I wouldn't hold my breath on a double-dip, unless the film has some major spike in popularity or some anniversary that gives cause for a renewed effort. Desperado is probably the only one of the four that might attract a large enough crowd.

If you really love either movie, you're not doing yourself any favors by waiting. If anything, buying what's already available encourages a newer, better release. Not that I don't get your reasoning. I'm just saying...

Just a let you know, the U.K. version of Twister is superior to the U.S. version.

I won't be getting any of those. Only one if would have been interested in was the one with 300/Alexander/Troy, but already own 300 and Troy individually. Pass on all of them.

Alexander is not even worth owning. It's barely worth a rental actually.

Never seen it, I've never heard anything good about it. I seem to recall a few actors from the movie being dissappointed that they even signed on to do this movie.

This and Daredevil were certainly stains on Colin Ferrel's career. He has done much better films such as In Bruges, Minority Report, and Horrible Bosses.

The only way I will buy one of these is if they put A Cinderella Story 1-3 in a set with different discs.
