My US BD plays on my Sony 570 okay which was in the same release wave of Sony BD players, however don't want to give you a guarantee for the Sony 370.

Thanks for your reply I've yet to hear if the US disc works on any 3 series UK player so maybe I should wait till I can confirm it. I really want to watch the film though, really, really!!!! I sold my old DVD to get the Blu last year before I knew about the UK problems.

A little update on this . I just bought this Blu-ray again as my Sony 370 player had a firmware update released before Xmas so I thought I'd try it again. And amazingly, it now plays! Presumably all 3 series players that are updated will now play it too.

So yay! Very happy .

My Sony 570 also had a firmware update late last year. I had the US Wal Mart exclusive which I think was same as the version which went on general release some months later, and that has always played okay.

In terms of Sony firmware updates they obviously went back as far as the x70 series but no older as they have not fixed the Sony 360 which was one year older (my dad has my player which he uses for DVD playback and the occasional BD when I visit).

The US disc plays ok on my Sony S780. I don't know if that's any help to you though.

Such a great film. Shame they couldn't have boosted the sound a little though, as it's very tinny. David Shire's score deserves better.

Is anyone able to please advise as to how the transfer on the UK release compares with the new US Kino Lorber, which has the extra special features?

Does anyone still have problems with this release? Picked up the OOP UK release several months aback and I get "This disc is incompatible" on my Panasonic UHD player but it plays fine on my PS3 (although takes slightly longer than most discs).

Could be player issues or disc rot. The film has also had Region B releases in France and Germany if you still have issues but it would be cool to get a UK reissue especially with a UHD on the horizon in the US.

I just tried the UK disc on my Panasonic UB450 and it played without any issues.

Yeah, UK Bluray here, plays Perfectly on ub820.
