Does anyone even know how old that picture is? This could be from last year and may not be new at all.

Moderators, might as well close this thread out. Just found something that might prove the rumor incorrect.

Towards the bottom of the page, you will see the photo mentioned here and in other posts. It's from CEATEC JAPAN "2007".

Another sensationalistic false story made for web hits. I am not surprised as that site will do anything for traffic. Why spread it? We know he has no intention to make any HD films at this time, much less in Blu-Ray.

Partially might be to bring some supporters in that were on the fence, much like our nice little troll did with the Warner rumor.

Default Spielberg HD-DVD?!?!?! WTF?

Not too sure what to make of this:

http://www.eyecravedvd.com/article.p...71007103214169

Could this possibly be another slip by Universal regarding Spielberg's titles last spring, like the one that made them issue a public statement of apology? Could their Japanese division have missed that memo? I certainly hope so! Kinda scary.

Post Rumor alert: Universal Spielberg films "coming" to HD DVD

I know Universal has jumped the gun earlier and announced that Jurassic Park, E.T., and Jaws would be coming out on HD DVD and it was proven incorrect. Well apparently Universal Japan just announced this . . .

http://www.dvdtown.com/news/spielber...-in-japan/4793

I don't know how reliable this is, but I thought I would just point it out.

Until I see a release date....it's all just hype, that will probably get shutdown soon with another appology to Spielberg from HDDVD.

But the logical thought behind the arguement is that once they are released on HD-DVD ANYWHERE, they are a globally viable release due to the lack of region coding. If I was an HD-DVD supporter, I might invest some serious coin to purchase a HUGE shipment and sell them here in North America. So, just because they don't officially get released here in North America, they could still easily be distributed here in North America. In that sense, Universal releasing his titles on HD-DVD at all is a violation of his exclusion rights with Universal!

This scene could get very ugly (for Universal & Spielberg)... and very fast!
