Most of my blus are bought are from Amazon, pre orders especially. I also check Ebay for older releases too, to see which I can get a better deal on.
When I finish my 3D set up, the glasses will be bought through Amazon. |

Definitely addicted to Amazon here. Prime member and my wife I buy an amazing range of stuff from them (canned cat food for our 3 cats is actually cheaper than local due to Prime). My new 55HX929 came from Amazon, most of my BD's, my new Oppo BDP-93 (my old BDP-83), my Denon AVR, etc.
Aside from food, home improvement stuff (Home Depot & Lowes), clothes (LL Bean), computers (Apple store - corporate discount) & furniture, just about everything comes from Amazon for this household. |

I'm a huge fan of Amazon, their prices are excellent, and their customer service is the best! I made my first purchase from them in December '10, and since then I barely shop anywhere else for my movies. I wasn't always a Prime member, but since I upgraded to Prime, it's been one of the best decisions I've made!
My items always arrive via UPS and I've never had a problem with broken cases due to poor packaging. Everything arrives on release date, and not getting taxed just puts the icing on the cake! While the majority of my shopping has been limited to Blu-ray's, they have excellent deals all around. Needless to say, Amazon will continue to be my number one retailer for many years to come! Great thread! ![]() |

I'm a big fan of Amazon as well. However I don't really like the 3-party sellers, who sells things fulfilled by Amazon. This mostly means Amazon completely take their hands of certain products. Or you can only buy it via Amazon's Warehouse (used stuff)
Especially in the UK is this the matter. ![]() |

If I need something, or see something in the store, I go home and check to see how much Amazon has it for.
I am fortunate enough to live in one of the places that Amazon doesn't charge sales tax (or I'm not subject to paying it at the time of purchase that is) I've ordered two lawnmowers from Amazon via prime. I order things for family friends and direct ship it because it's much cheaper to do that than buy it in a store, then box and ship it to them myself etc. I've bought things as minor as a roll of Butcher's twine, and things like a professional model kitchen-aide mixer etc.... On "my order history" for the past 6 months, I've made about 45 purchases from Amazon..... Most are NOT Blu-rays, but most of the Blu-rays I do buy, are from Amazon. |

Even though I'm NOT fortunate enough to live in a state where sales tax is not levied, I still buy a lot through Amazon. Lately, my wife has started monitoring the groceries in the warehouse deals section. Just last week I bought several cases of Pop-Tarts and NutriGrain bars because the warehouse prices on them were less than half what we typically pay at the store.
When I'm interested in buying something, I always check Amazon first. They may not always be the cheapest, but I've found the majority of the time they are. |

I love Amazon. I buy 80% of my movies and a lot of other stuff from them. Got a free prime trial because my girlfriend is in college right now and after that ran out I bought another year. I went down to Florida to see my parents for Christmas and it was so much easier just having everything shipped there instead of trying to take it on the plane.

I used to buy virtually all my Blu-rays from Amazon but it seems like in the last 6 months their pricing hasn't been as good and they are often getting beat by Best Buy or Target and much of the time aren't price matching. If prices are roughly the same I'll usually buy the item in store so I can make certain it's in mint condition. I have Prime and still buy a lot from Amazon, just nowhere near as much as I used to.

I too use Amazon for almost all of my purchases. Back in 2005 I moved to a very small town for college that only had a few resturants, a 1-screen movie theater and a handful of mom and pop stores. The nearest Wal Mart was over an hour away. So I got used to ordering whatever I needed (sometimes even food) from amazon. Since graduation and moving back to the world of the living I still use them almost exclusively for DVDs/BLUs/Books/etc.

Wow--an Amazon thread--how cool. Yes, I too LOVE Amazon and use it--with Prime--to buy not only all of my Blu Rays but pretty much anything else under the sun too. I was looking for some ginger root pills before a cruise and none of the regular food stores or drug storms had them, but Amazon did and even had them in a "Fulfilled by Amazon" merchant partner so I got free two-day shipping.
Amazon doesn't always get your order processed the day it is received--like for my Marantz receiver. But no worry, they processed it on a Monday evening and I got it Tuesday by noon via FedEx Next Day Delivery--the day promised. Just another example of their great service. I have asked them questions via email and always get a timely and consumer oriented response. Like an idiot I punched the wrong button on my Roku to order a movie and got the wrong one--one I already had on Blu Ray. Amazon policy is to not refund Instant Video purchases but they did it for me anyway. Really have no complaints--and for someone who really doesn't enjoy shopping in a B&M store, Amazon is the perfect solution--especially when coupled with Prime! ![]() |

Has anyone else purchased the Kindle Fire, and If so, what are your thoughts on it. I personally think its a great tablet, and is especially good for prime members who can take advantage of Amazon Video on it. Its no "apple killer", but isnt supposed to be. Rather, Its a good tablet for basic web browsing, Amazon video, and purchasing digital music on, for those who use their digital store. The magazine subscriptions are pretty good on it as well. Just my 2 cents......

I'm curious what people have to say about the Fire. I love my iPad, I would like the iPad 2 much more, but I love it all the same. I love Amazon like crazy and would consider getting a Fire (wouldn't get e-ink because I'm not huge on reading), but since the content is centered in Amazons services, (none of which I use) and the files I have wouldn't fit due to the limited local storage, I doubt it would work for me. When I have an unlimited supply of money I would definitely get a Macbook Air, but I would also pick up the Kindle Fire, because I am wondering if it would convert me, doubtful, but I'm still curious. And besides, one can never have too many tech toys...
