Good. If more people said "like 300," I would have no problem in taking it back and waiting for it to drop in price ($35 is a lot to drop for a movie).

It's not grainy. It has a lack of resolution. A standard resolution video camera.
Search Canon xl1 PAL and you'll find the video camera it was shot with.

The lack of resolution was not intentional, 24p high definition video cameras were more expensive then (varicam,f900 etc) so this was the best option they could afford.

300 had fake film grain added to make it look like the movie was actually shot on film...when in fact it was shot wiith high def video cameras with a green screen.

2 grain or not to grain... sorry lame I know. But let's be honest FOX is releasing movies on BLU or maybe you would rather not have any FOX titles at all? I have these ordered from Amazon should be here in a few days. I don't mind the grain... I'M JUST EXCITED TO WATCH THESE MOVIES IN BLU! so in closing as my Grandpa would say quit yer *****'n!!!!!!

How was the audio? That may having been the one thing this title on blu could offer.

Just a note, while someone listed it as PAL 720x576i.
What you see in this movie isnt that.

First of all that camera has a 4:3 sensor. So its widescreen mode loses some res.

Second it's Frame mode isnt true 25p...so thats a hit in resolution.
That's why we traded up for the Canon XL2..which had a full resolution 16:9 mode and true 24p. In short The Xl1 falls short of what's capable on standard dvd.

Not saying its a bad movie but I would argue that its never "the directors intended vision" to get a standard mini dv "look". That's a budget restraint.

If someone wants a grainy look then 16mm is a good option.Or underexposing 35mm and using push process in the developing. I think film grain can be beautiful. Pixelization..not so beautiful.

Right!!! I didnt catch that!

I have 28 weeks on my table right now. Watching it tonight.

Hope they went the route of push processing 35mm instead of using fake grain.

I think that's how they did War of The Worlds....bleach bypass and push process.....if im not mistaken.

300 had grain added to reduce the GreenScreen difference.

I mean one of the worst CGI + Human movie on Earth, King Kong, use that technique but it's so clean that the CGI + Human look as fake a the 1930 version of that same movie LOL!

If there's a example of want not to do in Cinema. King Kong should be the master..

I firmly believe that it was the director's intention to make the movie seem kind of like a low budget, hand-held shot home video, so it would seem a little more real and less like a Hollywood production. And for the most part I think it works great. I love the look of the film. I'll definitely rent it before I buy it though because I already have it on DVD.

On the 28 discs, there are 0 trailers for 0 movies. They launch the movie menu from the get go.

28days pq was ok, but it was originally made to be 'realistic low budget' feel in the 1st place

the sound was better then the original, i havent seen 28weeks yet... thats tomorrow

Also, did anyone with the SAMSUNG BDP1000 have like a slight pause randomly or in between chapters? mine was doing it on 28days later.... any one?

short answer please: does the 28 Days BD have better PQ/AQ than the DVD?
i really liked the movie, but i won't buy the BD if its essentially indistinguishable from the DVD i've already got.
