Ive had my integra for a year, not a single issue. Onkyo/Integra is basically the same company. Onkyo sells a lot of units, possibly more then anyother company, so its not unbelievable that they would also have a larger number of units fail, but, I can't say if their failure percentage is any higher.

Sony seems to be the most reliable of all the brands that I have seen, they never have handshake issue, etc.

Otherwise if you have a preference such as Pioneer, Yamaha or Denon, pick up what has the best features for you in your price range.

Just about anything will power polk speakers, so get what you think sounds the best paired with polk speakers.

Thank you.

I ended up going with:

Pioneer VSX-821-K 5.1-Channel 3D Ready A/V Receiver $190
Polk Audio OWM3 Black Multi Application Compact Loudspeaker Pair $79

Both were on sale through today (2/19) on Newegg with free ship no tax.

I'll replace my Kenwood rears with the Polks and then use all my Kenwoods in the bedroom with the new receiver. I figured for $190 for the time being I'll be happy. Then when this years receivers go on sale at the end of the year I'll upgrade my main receiver and use this Pioneer 821 to upgrade my gf's.

A couple of my friends on the site have Pioneer VSX's (just a little older) and they love them. I would have gone for the 7.1 (921) but it was $110 more and I wouldn't set up 7.1 in the bedroom. There just isn't space.

Purchased the VSX1121 a few months back and I love it. I was using an Onkyo 605. Can't go wrong with pioneer. Congrats!

Thanks! I was torn between the 821 and the 921. I just felt that $110 for an extra 2 channels I wasn't going to use and upscaling was money I could save for an upgrade down the road. I've heard great things about the 1021. I missed it when it was on sale for $300 a while back on Newegg. Thanks again.

http://www.dakmart.com/advanced_sear...9femsahrkte992 This is refurbished to new and comes with one year warranty. I bought a 3808 from them and it has worked flawlessly.

I also recommend Denon, I've got a AVR-3300 that is still working flawlessly after 14 years. I just picked up a 4310 for 800.00 which was a steal. I can vouch for Dakmart. My nephew bought a refurbished Denon from them a couple of years ago it too has worked flawlessly.
Good Luck on whatever you decide to go with.

Don't know if you've seen this but there is a guy selling a Pioneer Elite receiver for $550.00 130W X 7. Looks like a helluva a receiver for the money!
