The set WILL be mine. Holy shit.

Has a release date even been set considering the actual season is still airing?.

Seems really early, especially for an AMC show.

While it's nice for the hardcore crowd...regular BD release for me. Some shows I'll pay the extra money for, some I just can't do it. This is one of the latter. Awesome for the die-hards though!

Looks like we don't have a lot of die hards on this thread for the Walking Dead. It is in my top 5 favorite shows of all time. Zombies have been my favorite since I was 5 years old back in the 80's. I have a lot of Zombie stuff in my bray.com gallery and I am a hardcore lover of horror. Since the 90's I have always said why can't they make a zombie show with the survivors lives and adventures week to week. God answered my prayers. And I would give a BJ for this season 2 special edition case!

Cool packaging, shame the show turned to shit in season 2.

They burned me last year... released season 1 pretty quickly, then months later a "better" season one with more stuff was released.

So... I promised that I would not buy season 2 at initial release... going to wait and see if they do the double-release thing again this year.

I just bought the first release of Season 1, couldn't care less about the "better" version.

The 2nd season has been very well done to this point. My fear is that the show will go down hill now that Frank Darabont has been let go.

Can't wait for sunday night!

I will own this. This is one of the few times where, even though the movie has a special case, it still contains the original packaging for the product. There's been so many other times where you buy an edition with a special case and you just get the movie in a sleeve (Tron, Lion King, Target's Toy Story Buzz Lightyear version, etc).

Awesome cover. Season Two started off strong before turning into "As the Walking Dead Turns"

Good spot! It probably is, as they might not have the official S2 cover done at the time of that photo release and had to place something inside to give it scale.

Agree! While I didn't buy S1...yet...I was bummed to see them do a double dip so quickly. I hope that's not the case here.

I'm a huge fan of the show, and the comics, the tie-in novel, etc., etc., etc....but I (pretty much) no longer do the BD/DVD Special Editions with excessively large/unusal packaging.

I'm never satisfied with the paint applications on the statues, and I just don't have enough space for all that stuff anymore. Well, I do have the space, but I don't want to fill it with stuff that someone else created, either (I've been an artist [painting/sculpting] for over 4 decades).

Plus, being a musician, I also have instruments and amplification in the house, and that takes up space.

Oh, and my growroom (& secondary income) takes up a lot of square footage, too. Plus, I have a collection of well over 200 vintage model cars/dinosaurs/monsters.

I'll get the regular edition on day one, though!!!

I haven't understood the complaints about this season. Over-all I would rank it better than the first. There's been more story and more depth to the characters. Plus it's been a bit more even -- no episodes were as poor as "Vatos" from the first season.

See, all that would be fine if the characters were at all likable and/or interesting. From my perspective they aren't and since this is a "character-based" show; there's very little to get excited about. (Besides the 2-minute zombie cameos per episode of course) Spending half a season in the same boring location probably isn't the best idea to get people to tune in every week either!

It's too bad because the Pilot was absolutely incredible! The show just kinda faltered along the way...

Agreed, I didn't get much character development from the second season, they're all pretty one-dimensional and - worse - not particularly interesting. I would be fine with that if the pacing was as brisk as the first season, but this one has stalled and fallen flat. The mid-season finale was a decent payoff, but the entire arc of those seven episodes could've easily been condensed into half that and been the better for it.

I'd nominate "Chupacabra" as the worst episode of the series - the stuff with
[Show spoiler]Daryl and his "visions"
was just godawful filler material. But again, I haven't given up on the show. Here's hoping the second half with redeem all.

I just realized something...
Jenner from the CDC in season 1 never told Rick that Lori was Pregnant.
He told him something else.
When Rick leans of Lori being pregnant he is completely shocked!
