It's a Ron Howard movie with an ensemble cast. Steve Martin got top billing and is the central character on the poster, but the movie's about a lot more than just him. Even Ken-U Reeves is really good in this.

I realize that, but I'd rather have The Jerk and Leap of Faith.

Have you seen the movie? Easily one of the best "family" comedies ever made. I laughed until I cried, particularly during the
[Show spoiler]"flashlight" scene
.

The Jerk was underwhelming on HD-DVD, but I guess there's only so much Universal can do with a low budget 33 year-old comedy. I do hope that when it does hit Blu-ray, Universal includes the original mono track. The 5.1 remix on the HD-DVD had new sound FX when M. Emmet Walsh is shooting the cans through the window that really stuck out.

Ransom was pretty good too. It would've been better had it not been for that spoilerific trailer.

I grew up watching this film as it was one of my parents favorites, especially since the family dynamic was rather similar to my own (Grandparents had 5 kids all of which had been married with kids at least twice) and by the time I came around I had cousins older than me (and even a neice who is only a year younger).

No matter how many times I watch it I still crack up laughing. Day 1 for me and I rarely purchase catalog releases (especially for more than $10).

I might be the only person on this site that wants The Paper on blu, a stellar Ron Howard film IMO also w/ an all star cast.
there has NEVER been a widescreen release on ANY format, just FF/P&S
they can call it the "Stop The Presses Edition"

I'd be in for Far and Away, Splash and Night Shift, also.

I never saw The Paper. It was a box office disappointment, but I wouldn't mind giving it a look someday if it was released.

I love Parenthood, but I'd love for Far and Away to come out on BD, too. The cinematography is incredible.
