User Agreement 2.0, FW update too?

AFAIK, it's not firmware update. it's new terms and condition. the first one being 1.0, released 11 November (Japanese PS3 release date)

I think the updates in the TOS specifically applies to Playstation Eye, specifically your ability to upload content as part of your online experience with the PS3. With the EyeCreate being a free download, from which you can make your own video content, I think this is the logical conclusion.

Version 2.0 has been dated for Oct. 30! I'm typing on my PS3, so I can't post the link. If you look on www.us.playstation.com. Look under support...then go to the user agreement. The date is posted at the beginning of the terms of service and user agreement.

I used to fall in with all the hype about these updates, only to end up saying "that's it?" So I'll just wait and see. No more reading threads about firmware updates.

i am one of those people who check my ps3 every week to see if the system update has come up and then when i update it i wait about a month

i'm pretty sure this is right. you guys are getting your hopes up about the date (not that an update isn't coming, but i wouldn't take the 30th off from work just yet).

According to Sony's official PlayStation Support website, the new 2.00 PlayStation 3 firmware update will release October 30, 2007.

No official details have been released yet on what will be included in the new update, but according to rumors, the following can be expected:

- Users

* You can now password-protect user accounts.

- Settings

* [Dynamic Normalizer] has been added as an option under [Sound Settings].
* [Energy Saver] has been added as an option.
* [Equalizer] has been added as a feature under [Music Settings].
* [Full] has been added as an option for [DVD Wide Display] under [BD / DVD Settings].
* [Photo Settings] has been added as an option.
* [PS / PS2 Settings] has been added as an option.
* [RSS Channel Settings] has been added as an option.
* [Sample Rate] has been added to [Audio CD Import] under [Music Settings].
* [Screen Saver] has been expanded under [Display Settings].
* The method of selecting an output resolution has been changed in [Video Output Settings] under [Display Settings].
* [Theme Settings] has been added as an option.
* [Zero Unused Disk Space] has been added as an option under [System Settings] > [Format Utility].

- Photo

* Additional slideshows have been added.
* [Photo Effects] have been added as a feature.
* Wallpaper feature has been added.
* [Zoom] has been added as a feature.

- Music

* Additional visualizations have been added.
* CD information can now be entered.

* XMB (XrossMediaBar) is now accessible during gameplay.

* You can now have multiple chat sessions.
* You can now select an image to use as your Avatar from [Photo].

* Date & Time is now shown when the PS button is pressed.
* File sorting has been changed.
* [Help] has been added as a feature.
* Playability status with the PS3 system has changed for some PlayStation and PlayStation 2 format titles.
* [Secure Delete] has been added as an option.
* Some PlayStation Network features have been revised.

Sadly, that PS3 does not have closed captioned (not subtitle) feature, its strange because PS2 does have C.C and PS3 cost a lot than ps2 and they didnt have CC?
I wonder why? SOME MOVIE DOES NOT HAVE SUBTITLE FEATURE , THEY HAVE CC INSTEAD AND WE CAN NOT USE ANY MOVIE WITH CC (ONLY) ON PS3... THIS PISSED ME OFF AFTER I BROUGHT THE PS3 AND FIND OUT THAT IT DOES NOT HAVE CC FEATURE.

I hope there will be CC firmware coming sooon! COME ON SONY!! I LOVE MY PS3 and blu ray in it and want closed captioned.

It's a re-hash of the previous rumours..the 2.0 is the versioning of the Service Agreement. The only interesting thing is the changes are substantial enough that a major firmware update might be a reasonable assumption *this* time..or it just may be the release of EyeCreate required these changes.

Wow. I haven't updated my PS3 since June. I won't be able to even do so until Feb/Mar. I guess the most recent update at that time will cover them all?

you are correct. version 3.93 will have every version from 3.92 down on it.
