MGM is spread out. Fox, WB and Sony have all released a bunch of MGM films, but Fox and WB have released the most if I recall. I don't know if MGM does new scans and masters themselves, but a lot of new ones that look really nice have shown up on MGM HD. I'd think perhaps the costly masters are done in house at Fox and Warner, while MGM gets their genre releases done themselves. Last edited by DarknessBDJM; 06-10-2012 at 02:14 AM. |

Cliff, if the Halloween II and/or III feature 5.1 mixes, be sure they also include the original soundtracks (Example being that Halloween III was shot in Mono sound). This should go to all other releases. Also, I have a few suggestions:
-Child's Play 2 -Child's Play 3 -Piranha II: The Spawning -George A. Romero's Night Of The Living (1968 original) -Attack of The Killer Tomatoes (with all available cuts and the old Rhino extras alongside with the new extras) -Army Of Darkness (with both cuts) -The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation -Bad Taste -Sleepaway Camp |

I already expressed interest and hopes for
Creature from Black Lake Monster aka Monstroid Monster Shark - Devil Fish Bram Stokers To Die For Fright Night Part 2 The Kindred Endless Descent Alligator & Alligator 2 - just like the Anchor Bay UK version Since I know some wont sell on their own, make some double or triple features like that horror set you did last year with Lady Frankenstein. |

I always add the original audio if we do a new 5.1 track

Oh I just remembered Universal owns Army of Darkness and has licensed it out before,so hopefully a proper Blu-Ray release might come about with BOTH cuts in HD,and new extras as Army of Darkness while the commentary is great(as always with Campbell involved, and even better with Raimi with him) the extras have always seemed lackluster, and now REALLY do compared to Evil Dead's 3-Disc Limited Edition DVD and Evil Dead 2's 25th Anniversary BD,so I'm hoping Shout got rights to it,seeing as Halloween II had a BD from them too,but was a part of the 1st 2 releases. *Fingers crossed*

[QUOTE=TNAJason;6042366]He had already confirmed that they do not before the data loss due to budget constraints.[/
When I said that I was speaking in general... The Corman titles didn't have them because I didn't have the budget for it. These new titles will probably have them. |

Sounds good, Cliff. The response to this new line has been pretty remarkable so far, I really think this is going to pay off for Shout! even better than the Corman line did which is really saying something. I can't wait to see what else you guys have in store for us.
As far as future releases, do you feel most people will be very satisfied with the output? Do you guys have plenty of "never before released on DVD/Blu-ray" titles in mind? |

This will probably only happen after Michael Mann dies, as he personally kept the DVD Paramount pressed back in 2003 from being sold (he despises the movie now and sees it as a blemish on his career).

If I could only recommend 1 film I'd like to see a release of it would definitely be the 1968 Night of the Living Dead. It deserves a proper release that is available and reasonably priced (and no, I don't count the Happinet release as it is way too expensive)
