Default I need you guys to convince my wife that we should upgrade from 1080i to 1080p

At the moment we have a 40" Sony Bravia LCD, great set but it's only 1080i.

The local Sony store has the 46" Bravia 1080p bundled with a free Sony Blu-ray player. My dad would take the player of my hands for €300 ($400), and I'm hoping my wife's sister will take the 40" LCD set for about €1000 ($1400), it would be perfect for her new apartment and she's not a HD geek.

This would mean it would cost about €1200 ($1700) to upgrade to the 46" 1080p set. And yes I know $1700 is a lot of money either way, and US prices are probably much lower.

So come on, roll up and convince my wife that this is the right thing to do!!
Something more than me just saying "it's better".
Oh, and the free BD player offer finishes tomorrow......
