I haven't seen this anywhere. Looked pretty much everywhere. Guess I'll have to order it.

I've been looking for Joe Dante's Hole for a long time. I did see that one can purchase it on VUDU as an HDX file, but the price is more than the blu-ray - assuming that the BD actually exists.

Watched my friend's UK blu a a year or two ago and really enjoyed it. Been waiting awhile for us in the states to finally get a release and no one carries it. Yeah, I saw that it's on VUDU. I definitely need a physical copy though. Can't do downloads. haha

Picked this up at Target for $12.99 last night.

Havn't watched it yet, honestly I didn't even know it existed until I saw it at Target, but when I saw the director I decided to blind buy it.

I was surprised to find some reporting the 3D Dutch edition as region free; copies occasionally pop up on Amazon. Note that they may not show unless you include "Dutch" in your search terms...

I have one on order and will confirm region A compatibility, though I'm not inclined to doubt it at this point as many have the blu and have had no trouble playing it on their Region A/1 equipment.

Sounds like another viable workaround for the typically 3D deprived North American market.

It is region free, or at least region A compatible. I imported a copy from a Dutch website a couple years ago, specifically http://www.cdendvd.com/

A whole bunch of us from the 3D forum ordered at the same time when it was confirmed. Really good 3D layering, Dante knew how to frame shots to take advantage of it with having objects at different depths within the frame.

Thanks, it's great to find these A/1 compatible releases after being being snubbed by the studios here, especially when they're natively shot films...and carefully designed for 3D. Really looking forward to giving The Hole 3D a spin.

This will be my fourth, foreign release blu-ray.

Anyone know anything about the international releases of the Hole? I am just looking for a decent 2D version or 2D/3D. The US release is pretty bad. Absolutely rife with macroblocking and noise.

I have the Dutch disc, haven't watched it in a while but remember it looking pretty good though I was a bit disappointed with the movie itself.

Does it have lossless audio?

There is an Italian Hole 2D/3D steelbook.

https://www.amazon.it/hole-2D-3D-met...869136&sr=1-22

Has anyone tried it on an A region player. I'd like to know if its compatible before ordering. It the German disc is A-region compatible, maybe the Italian is as well.
