I got these from my girlfriend as a b-day gift. My first pair of Jordans!!! Not sure if I should wear them or keep them in the box.

i remember when i wanted to get the 1s my mom said, "no way, they're way too expensive. i'm not spending that much on a pair of shoes!" i told her i'd pay for half and she could pay for half and that way she wouldn't be spending that much. later that day i had my first pair of jordans.

and i used to work with a guy (when i worked at a shoe store funnily enough) who had a pair of every jordan ever released.....still in the box.....never worn. he always bought 2 pair, 1 to wear and 1 to keep in the box. there's no telling how much they're all worth now; especially since they were bought at ORIGINAL release and not during a re-release as some did.

Ha, the last pair I had in 97/98 were the first Jumpman Jordan's came out. The black suede, the bluish-purple bottom. Damn I love those shoes! Were they even considered Jordan's?

Back in the mid 90's I was into skateboard shoes (DC, eS, Etnies, Circa). I regret not picking up a pair of Jordans I would definitely like to get some old school Jordans.

My brother and I used to be sneakerheads, we used to camp out for new releases all the time. Now they just sit in bins at our parents house, some of them were even deadstock.

I probably mentioned it already on this thread, but I'm a sucker for Air Maxes. I recently ordered a pair of the Air Max 90 running shoe in anthracite/black.

although i do have 2 pair of nike air max, i usually wear my new balance 993 for anything other than yard work/construction-type stuff.

i've been wearing new balance exclusively since the 990; now i'm up to the 993.

when i worked at office depot i bought 2 pair of nike air max, one red/white pair and a black pair.
i've always like the air max and have owned several pair over the years. i think my favorites were the air max tailwind. my first pair was when i worked at a shoe store and got shoes for a good discount; especially when our store won a company-wide contest and we all got $500 to spend in the store on anything we wanted. of course i bought 4 pairs of shoes (2 for me and 1 each for my sister and mom).

my current pair of 993 are starting to get to where they need to be replaced so i need to start thinking of which ones i wanna get to replace them. i really like new balance, but i also like nike so i guess i'm gonna have to go in and try on a bunch of different pairs to see which ones i like the best.

I couldn't spend that kinda money on shoes knowing they'll get dirty or even put up as a display. Throw on some old school chuck taylors and roll out.

I do, however, miss me some old school Nike Air Max 95's in flourescent green. Cleanest shoe ever.

Since we are on the topic of shoes,

Can anyone recommend me a pair of shoes that is meant for people who stand on concrete floors all day?
I dont want anything combat style(lol) but lightweight and comfortable. I'm willing to spend around 80-100 bucks max. Thats on the high end btw.

Never noticed this thread. I've been a shoe guy for a long time. I had a pretty nice collection until I recently decided to sell all my Jordans. I still "collect" NikeSB dunk lows (that's all I wear as well). I will wear them normally though. A few Ive only wore once. Like the White gums (Band-Aids) on my wedding day and the New Castles for the reception.

No I am not, I don't have many shoes. I don't see the point in having many shoes, since a few pairs is enough in my opinion? .
But I do buy new shoes occasionally. I bought my most recent pair about 1 week ago.

Brown Tommy Hilfiger sneakers. I don't know if they are considered nice or cool, but I liked the normal usual look of it .

And I noticed clothes in the USA are very cheap. TH shirts are only 30 or 40 USD, that's like 22 or 30 Euros. They cost 4 - 6 times more in the Netherlands... I am going to buy a lot of clothes here lol . And maybe even 5 extra pairs of shoes .

That's how I feel. I LOVE shoes but I can't see myself buying shoes to match a specific outfit. I have maybe 3 pairs of Nike's, and 3 pairs of dress shoes for my wardrobe for work.

When it comes to sneakers though. I try to buy the neutral color shoes which would match everything from my shirts, to pants. I'd love to wear say red shoes to go with my red shirt but that becomes costly. Then again, I've been buying a lot Nike clothes (Dri-Fit sweaters/shirts/jackets) lately. That's the current phase I'm in right now.

I wouldn't say I'm a sneakerhead as I don't collect them (in comparison to other people at least) and I don't have any Jordans or Dunks. Years ago I tried Jordans but they looked huge on me, one day I'll try them again. I do love sneakers though, and of course I like the expensive ones.
