I'm pretty sure it will still have a 2D version, I can't think of any 3D films where the 2D option is not also present (could be wrong though)

very beautiful sb, but price too high for me: 31,50€ for non UK costumers is too much.

This is a definite pick up, even though I am Anti-3D.

The price is a bit steep though...

Like everyone else, I've pre-ordered but will only go ahead with it if its under £20. Even then, I think £17.99 could be my limit. I have no use for the 3D disc, although i'm sure people would be complaining if there was a 3D amaray but the steel was only 2D.

To be fair, I only have a few like that, I just thought I would mention it just in case, I would bet on it being on a separate disc.

Why wouldn't it have the 2D version? The listing clearly says "Prometheus 3D & 2D (Play.com Exclusive Steelbook) (w/Digital Copy) (Blu-ray)"

As probably one of the minorities on here, who loves 3D, I'm still trying to get my head around why there's so much hate for it! I know it's a gimmick for some but for me - it's a love! Ever since seeing the T2 3D ride at Universal Studios and a Bug's Life 3D at Disney years ago I was completely blown away at the picture depth and things coming closer to you, plus the IMAX 3D films at Kennedy Space Centre! Now going to see a movie at the cinema is no longer just that, it's now an experience being there in the action. The even better experience for me now is that I also have full 3D from my projector at home. I watched Immortals3D recently and was amazed at the picture depth. The last 2 films I saw with incredible 3D at the cinema were Avatar and Prometheus, so I for one will definitely be buying Prometheus 3D Steelbook! Anyways that's how I feel, I'm just off to watch IceAge in an hour, and guess what - It's in 3D yippee!!

Half the 3D Movies I have don't state there is a 2D version included, Stupidity really. I imagine they assume people just know.

There's nothing as polarising as 3D. You either dig it or you don't, I only reply as my first experience with 3D was at those shows you mention (plus Honey I Shrunk the Audience) and that's what put me off 3D for all these years. They were blurry and out of focus and felt anything but immersive. I had to take my glasses off in the Spiderman 3D ride as the quick motion 3D was too much for me. I had to take my glasses off through Captain Neo as my eyes were streaming (maybe it was Jacko's moving performance?) and I turned around to see that my wife had already disposed of hers.

BUT 3D has got hell of a lot better but Prometheus felt like watching a pop-up book in motion to me. Things are on different planes to give the whole image a feeling of depth but none of the individual layers feel like they got any real depth to them, they feel like 2D cut outs moving about. I found myself closing one eye to get rid of the effect a few times. Personally it adds nothing to a movie for me (you could argue that Ridley Scott feels the same way if you hear his "Urgh..." response to Mark Kermode's question whether 3D was the future, and his next movie is rumoured to be 2D only) but I can see why some get a thrill out of it.

Judging by its a Play.Com exclusive i doubt that the price will drop. Loved the film but £24 doesnt scream buy me to me. Will think it over (And probably end up pre-ordering it lol).

As pointed out earlier, it does now, it didn't before. It didn't when I ordered it, nor does it say it on the invoice so you can understand why some were wondering, even if 2D and 3D is usually a given.

Learning from past experience when it comes to Play exclusives, I would pre-order it. You can always cancel it nearer the time of release if you don't have the funds. If the price does change, your charged the lowest price, if you have it pre-ordered.

I've pre-ordered but if it doesn't come down in price I'll cancel and just get the standard 2D version.
