I grew up watching TNG but that was while it was actually coming out live so I was still just a kid and hardly remember much of the actual episodes. I remember all the movies quite well (Original & TNG ones). Anyway, now that Netflix has all of them on instant streaming I've added them all to my list and just recently finished Enterprise. Figured I'd go in chronological order instead of release dates. Really liked the entire series and the characters. Dr. Flox and T'Pol are probably my favs.

About 6 or 7 episodes in on Season 1 of the Original series now. Was really confused when I first started episode 1 and there was no William Shatner or anyone else except Leonard Nemoy. Then episode 2 and there they all are. No explanation - no clues - no hints - no character development - starting in the middle of a mission. I mean, what gives? They started the show all wrong. Would of been so much better had they shown Captain Kirk taking command of Enterprise and introducing the main crew. I get the show is what.. over 40 years old now? So I can forgive the cheesiness and poor special effects. Anyway, I'm having a hard time making myself watch the rest of the Original series. Will probably end up being my least favorite.

Chronological? So you have to stop before the last episode of Enterprise, then watch a few seasons of TNG before you can go back to it?

The pilot had a different actor and female first officer. The network wanted less brain and more brawn, so a new pilot was shot with Captain Kirk. But the original pilot still counted and they even referred to it in a later episode.

Captain Pike is who Bruce Greenwood played in the 2009 movie.

In fact they showed most of it, recycling to use as the episode "Court-Martial".

(Also, Dr. McCoy hadn't signed on yet in the pilot, and Pike's ship's doctor was more of a standard grandfatherly small-town doctor out of your standard Western. Right idea, but not quite up to the level yet.
Oh, and btw, the Pike pilot is one of only TWO episodes of the entire TOS in which Orion girls appear--and an illusion, no less--which means Kirk only had one chance to "make it with a green-skinned alien female", unquote, in Season 2. And as that one happened to be a scheming lunatic, he didn't.)

Actually there is a fan edit out which cuts out the TNG parts of the Enterprise finale. It becomes a 20 minute episode but still.

haha You are right Samus, I should of stopped before watching the last filmed episode of Enterprise (or watched the fan edit) and kinda wish I knew what was going to happen and I would of skipped the episode entirely. Really good episode but very sad.

As for TOS, when does Scotty start getting to play a bigger role? It was several episodes in before he even made an appearance and even then he was treated like an extra. He was always my favorite in the original movies.

Not sure, but I didn't like it.... Seasons 3 and 4 were outstanding, it didn't need the TNG connection. Don't get me wrong I like Frakes, but that was a glorified TNG episode, not an Enterprise episode....

The TNG connection was because of those morons cancelling at over at CW.

They threw it in there to make everyone (of this generation and who are ST fans) happy. But it fell back on them. They had good intentions.

I've always been a bigger fan of the feature films. I do like the original series, and I've always loved TNG, so I voted on that. Seen quite a few episodes of DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise, but never really became a fan.

If they all hit BD, that might change.

Did you miss the end of the episode where Archer launched the Federation?. That alone makes it a solid finale episode.

Could've been a great moment if Riker hadn't turned off the holodeck before anything happened. But I guess his story was more important than Archer's story. But one hated (for me) episode out 98 ain't bad.

Am in the 6th season of Voyager, and man... I'm still struggling on many episodes.
Granted, it is far better than the first 3 seasons, but it still has far too many fillers/ "seen it before" episodes imo. Nowhere near the awesomeness of TNG/ DS9 imo, even though it has had "some" good moments.

As I am approaching the end of Voyager, I am already dreading having to watch Enterprise which, to be fair, I have never really given a fair chance... only seen a few episodes.

Almost done season 1 of DS9 and I'm enjoying it. Can't wait for the war.

As for Enterprise, give it until season 3 and that's when they go to war and you'll be glued to your ****ing seat. Trust me man.

I'm looking forward to Voyager due to lots of Borg.

I voted Original Series. BUt I loved Deep Space Nine as well. The Dominion stuff was great and that show seemed to have the most character development, even with all the supporting characters. Like Garak.

Voyager just seemed like a rehash of the Next Generation. The whole Maquis being integrated into the crew went too smoothly for the most part. And for the whole first season they kept running into the same bad guys, the Kazon (spelling?).
