I have the disc now but can't test it on a standalone player currently and I have no experience with forced subtitles on that kind of setup so my question is this...
if the subs were truly forced, could you still turn them off and change the audio tracks whenever you want when playing on the computer with software players like PowerDVD? Because even though the subs will be activated if I choose English or Italian on the menu, I can turn them off once the movie plays (and can change the audio track without re-activating the subs). a few screenshots from the disc and images of the case Last edited by Sundance; 09-19-2012 at 02:38 PM. CRAP. I figured out why I was able to change the tracks and disable subs... it was because of a program I had running in background that enabled options that would have been otherwise disabled.
So, yes, the subtitles seem to be forced and audio track can't be changed while playing. Sorry. ![]() |

How odd...
I've seen a 1080p version online with English audio and no subtitles. Up until now i thought it came from the French BD. ??? |

Any idea if any of the lengthy extras are English friendly? It says VOST which means "original version ST" but in which language.
"Nobody is... Perfect" (55'31" - VOST) Tonino Valerii et le western (12'19" - VOST) Autour de Sergio Leone (49'17" - VOST) Commentaire audio de Tonino Valerii (VOST) Bande-annonce (3'18" - VF/VOST) Bande-annonce (6'37" - VOST) |

I just took a quick look at the extras...
"Nobody is... Perfect" (55'31" - VOST) Seemed to be a mix of several languages (at least English and Italian) depending on who is speaking... with only French subtitles Tonino Valerii et le western (12'19" - VOST) Italian audio, French subtitles Autour de Sergio Leone (49'17" - VOST) French audio Commentaire audio de Tonino Valerii (VOST) Italian audio, French subtitles And then two trailers, French and English. |

the German bd is region free with English audio and no forced subs.
![]() https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Mein-...Blu-ray/59210/ I'm really confused though because the release date of the German bd was before the French bd, so why didn't people like the German bd?? ![]() was the pq of the German bd supposed to be inferior or something?
