Saw it in HMV today, no slipcover. Nice purple cover though.

Luckily Zavvi posted it this morning, hopefully it will arrive later in the week.
Although if its via TNT I doubt it.

Mine dispatched from Zavvi just now, I've heard bad things about there delivery times though and it does say allow 10 days, but unless TNT or RM intentionally put them aside and ignore them for a few days though I don't get how it can take that long but hey, it's just one for the collection nothing I'm desperate to watch.

EDIT: Though that has a "dispatch date Est: 28/09/2012"

I'm thinking HMV may now have a supply issue, read in the HMV thread someone saying they hadn't dispatched their copy of Titanic. If they can't get that one right, then they must have some issues bubbling...

.
It's not just "Issues" they as a Company are ****ed pure and simple everyone knows that. They've been in the shit for a good while now...they won't be around much longer.

As long as they're around long enough to dispatch my Bond 50 set I bought in the 20% off sale a while ago, I won't mourn their passing too much.

On topic, thanks for the heads up on the Zaavi BFG - ordered and looking forward to watching that one - haven't seen it since it was first on TV when I was still at infant school.

My girlfriend was watching this on ITV3 earlier, I was in and out of sleep at one part and I distinctly remember nearly crying haha.

Anyone received/watch this yet? How is the disc?

Tried it out today. Region FREE.

Not sure what to make of the picture, nothing spectacular given the source material.

Never really expected anything spectacular. As long as it's an improvement from the DVD which it should be...

Thankfully they didn't do a DNR job to blur out imperfections. I think it looks pretty good, and its great to see the full 1.78:1 picture.
The disc includes a splitscreen before/after restoration video, easy to see the improvement.

I bought this, but haven't watched it yet. Had to get it off eBay as my local HMV didn't stock it.

Picked this up off of Amazon.co.uk. Loved this film as a kid, am a huge fan of Sir David Jason so this was a bit of WIN for me.

I couldn't find the Blu-Ray anywhere, but i did pick up the DVD last year in WHSmith. Same with the remastered Wind in the Willows film.

I'm glad they did a re-release. Did anyone else get the error on the original DVD (the version before the remastered edition)?
