Before today I'd only heard about the US Blu-ray release of the Roger Moore film The Naked Face. Checked Blu-ray.com's A-Z index and found out there has been a German Blu-ray release. Have read the review by a Blu-ray.com forum member, and have some questions regarding the presentation of the film on the German Blu-ray disc - was this (at the time) a fresh transfer and wasn't an upscale? Which logo/logos are shown at the beginning of the film? Is the film's title and all cast and crew credits in English? Is there an original audio mix included on the disc?
Apologies for asking all those questions, but I didn't want to go and get the German Blu-ray release, only to find it was a disappointing Blu-ray release. Also wanted to ask about the presentation of the film The Laughing Policeman. Had only heard of a US or UK DVD release of that film. Last edited by OceanBlue; 08-03-2014 at 11:22 PM. |

HansaSound is crap. there are any "great" classic movies on BR which are not worth to buy it on BR. "Der grosse Regen" was already terrible. Watchable between VHS/DVD Quality, maybe bit better.
But "Imitation of Life" was REALLY bad. ITS a big SHAME to release those great movies in that quality on BR. For a DVD it might be accetable but NOT on BR. I wrote to HansaSound couple months ago. I NEVER GOT AN ANSWER. Last edited by Swissangel4616; 08-06-2014 at 07:26 AM. |

I have the Hansesound releases "The Ambassador", "The Naked Face", "The Laughing Policeman", "The Rains Of Ranchipur" and "The Doris Day Collection" and these are all decent HD transfers.
"The Rains Of Ranchipur" I believe is the same transfer as the Twilight Time version. The PQ on "The Naked Face" is excellent and main titles are in English. "The Naked Face" details from PowerDVD :- Primary video attributes: Video compression mode: MPEG-4 AVC (DxVA on) Aspect ratio: 16:9 Source picture resolution: 1920x1080 Frame rate: 23.00 Bitrate: 20.09Mbps Primary audio attributes: Primary audio attributes: LPCM Sampling rate: 48kHz Number of audio channels:2.0 Bitrate: 1536 Kbps I think sound is mono spead over 2 channels Last edited by Simon Lewis; 08-09-2014 at 12:47 PM. Simon, thanks for the very helpful post regarding the picture and audio specs of The Naked Face and the transfer of The Laughing Policeman.
