Yeah I've got ZERO interest in the Schumacher Batmans...absolutely ZERO so the anthology for $50 isnt worth it. I even checked on ebay and they are WAY overpriced, the ones that are even there. This is nuts. Like Monarch of Media said, maybe they will release them in December with TDKR. Hope so anyway.

I only recently made another attempt to watch Batman & Robin completely. I couldn't. It's so bad I can never seem to finish it. ![]() |

You can still get Batman and Batman Returns in the Tim Burton collection on Amazon. It also has BeetleJuice, Mars Attacks, Peewee's Big Adventure, Charlie and the choclolate Factory and Tim burtonss corpse Bride for 53.00 which i would do that before paying 50 or more just for Batman.

I have seen this set in the clearance section of a few Walmarts. I did not look at the price since I have all the Burton on Blu-ray that I want right now (including the Blu-ray Batman: The Motion Picture Anthology box set) .

Considering how campy the original Batman films are, this isn't surprising. This might be Warner Brothers trying to keep those films off the market so they won't be associated with Nolan's trilogy.
Expect to see a boxed set featuring all seven Batman films. lols |

campy??? Burtons batmans were 50 x better than Nolan's "scorsesee like crime drama's" I SERIOUSLY doubt they're embarrassed about those money makers

Yeah, the Batman films always sell so I don't think Warner is holding back because they are campy. Watching Batman 1989 a few weeks ago, coincidentally the first BD I bought way back in 2009, and it hasn't aged quite so well. I certainly don't have the enthusiasm as I did in 1989.

I could see WB withholding The Burton Batmans just to avoid flooding the product.
I dont think they are embarrassed of that brand at all. They can wait until the Rises BD cools off and then return to Burton's flicks for re-release. And the Burton ones do have elements of "camp" but Campy overall - NO. The 60's Batman was CAMP. Those flicks came out after Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns. The newly re-established dark element to Batman continued w/ Keaton despite the Hollywood humor. The Joker killed people. |

I can't decide if you are just really young, immature or just like to stir the pot to see what shit you can stir up or all of the above kemcha? Seems you never really bring much value to bring to a thread. Batman is (unfortunatley)a brand name to WB. So if anything, it would be the opposite and they will release the previous titles to capitalize on the current success of the franchise.

Still my best Blu-ray deal, ever. Quote:
I get the "ultra-reality" thing he was going for, but honestly - it feels like New Chicago, it looks like New Chicago, and Gotham City doesn't seem to exist. They could have blended it (the Schumacher films took it a bit too far with the skyscape, but both Burton films had a great mix of the art deco/gothic with a "real" city). It feels like it was art directed by someone making industrial films. On a side note, they also proved what I have always thought - it really doesn't matter who plays Batman. I cannot stand Christian Bale but I don't mind him because Batman is Batman, and I have to say at least he does well coming off as a spoiled brat as Wayne, because that's what I find the personality of the actor is like from anything I've seen. |
