The Impossible - 9/10

A masterful movie telling the true story about a family of survivors of the 2004 Tsunami.

The Effects are great and the Perfectly executed. The Tsunami really shows the power and devastation of the natural disaster while looking fantastic.

The Acting is pretty good too. Tom Holland is fantastic as the eldest son struggling with the conflict of Survival and Helping. Naomi watts was also good after a pretty rough start, I thought any way. McGregor also plays his part well too but his suffers because of what has come before and how his journey unfolds.

The Cinematography was fantastic IMO. although there are a few close up shots which I thought could have been less.

Overall it is an Interesting and captivating movie showing the pains and emotion this family endures while also showing the massive devastation and scale of this Natural disaster.

I would recommend. Even if just to watch the Tsunami.

Wow, 'The Impossible' appears to be flying under the radar! My wife and I went to see it today and, WOW, what an incredibly moving story about tragedy, adversity, determination, triumph, compassion, love and family!!

'The Impossible' is my second favorite movie from 2012 (Lincoln is still ahead by a nose). Naomi Watts deserves an Oscar for her performance. Hell, I wouldn't be too disappointed if 'The Impossible' beat out 'Lincoln' for the Best Picture statue.

The Booth Bijou gives 'The Impossible' 5 out of 5 stars! HIGHLY recommended!

I was moved to tears at the agony endured by the characters on-screen just as I was moved to tears at the little glimmers of joy and humanity shown in the film. This is a film where I was swept away by the waves of emotions I felt throughout the film and it is one of the best films of the year. As bleak as the film’s premise sounds, The Impossible is an incredibly moving and uplifting film of family-love and triumph.

I do not know why the film is called The Impossible but in fairness, I cannot think of more appropriate titles. Does the title refer to the feat as to how the family managed to survive through the disaster? Or does it refer to the actual disaster itself? I do know it is one of the best films of 2012…and 2012 has been a great year in film.

Moving film and another great effort by the director after The Orphanage. Acting was great all around. I did find it strange that they decided on a nearly all white cast, even though the family, whose story this is based on, is from Spain. But honestly, this could have been any family's story.

9/10

I'd have Naomi Watts leading the race for Best Actress as well, what a performance. This movie was a big emotional rollarcoaster and I loved how it showed the strength and courage of the local Thais who despite having lost everything were still able to help the tourists. Have to mention how intense it was when the tsunami first hit.

I'd give it 10/10

I just watched this last night. I read up a little bit about it after. The main character wanted Naomi Watts to play her.

Great movie, very intense, beautifully shot and some heart warming scenes as well. I teared up quite a few times.

I think The Impossible refers to the insane odds of them all surviving and finding each other.

This looks like Spider-Man Tom Holland's earliest film from what I've seen so far, but he even does a back/forward flip in this film too. Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts are great actors also.

Just started watching The Impossible on free Tubi and have to complete it but wow, what a surprise what happens on the island resort that they're on, having started it without knowing anything about it. A 2012 film.

About 30 minutes in. What a nightmare situation.
