Total Recall (2012) - Review

Yep also enjoyed it here. I watched the original the night before i saw this and to be honest it hasnt really stood the test of time for me. Still a enjoyable film but not as great as what I had once thought it was.

I really wanted to like this movie but I got bored fast and just never really enjoyed it. I gotta say one of the biggest flops of the year for me as well as battleship

For me the biggest flop was The Amzing Spiderman. Really didnt enjoy it. Wasnt a terrible film but it just didnt work for me. The tone, the villain, the music just didnt do it for me. Goes to show that box office success doesnt translate to overall satisfaction with the film.

Mediocre movie. Why the studio thought it would be a good idea to give Len Wiseman, a filmmaker who can't seem to shoot a coherent action scene, more than $100 million to make this film is one of life's mysteries. Also unclear is why anyone thought that Colin Farrell -- a good actor in films like In Bruges and Tigerland -- would make a convincing action hero.

Don't do it. The visuals are nice, but beyond that the film is just generic action garbage. There is not one memorable action setpiece in the entire film.

Gonna roll the dice and blind-buy. I really can't imagine not liking it being:

1. I will watch and love ANYTHING Beckinsale is in!
2. I typically really enjoy Wiseman's movies. (yep, all three not counting Total Recall!)
3. I'm a huge fan of the original.
4. My expectations are actually quite low.
5. Refer back to #1

Didin't get a chance to see this in the theatre, so I'm looking forward to seeing Beckinsale/Biel in HD! Never a problem there!

Much like Twilight, its amazing how polarizing this movie is to people. I feel bad for Colin Farrell. I think he's a good actor and I've enjoyed a lot of movies he's been in. Unfortunately, he's just not a draw.

I personally thought this remake was a hell of a lot of fun and I'll definitely be buying it!

You read my mind as I was about to post this! One of my favorite movies of the year!

If Kate Beckinsale is in the movie, then its a blind buy for me. lol

she was the only good thing about it. I do like wiseman and even enjoyed die hard 4. this was bad. I am also a big fan of the original film. it worked better for arnold. its interesting to hear paul verhoeven talk about the original on the blu ray re-release.

It's not really polarizing, it's just not a good film.

The movie isn't as universally despised as you would like to think. After being watched by many for the home release or later down the road, people will look back and say "You know that movie wasn't as bad as I thought it would be."
